by salim mansuri on Dec 09, 2007 11:14 AM  | Hide replies

yuvraj scored runs against weak bowling attack of pakistan without akhtar.pich was too flat.scoring 300 on this ground is not difficult.if yuvraj thinks that this innings will make him test player, then he is fool.he is only a hard hitter.he can not succeed in australia even in odis.kaif is better technically suited to aus conditions.drop yuvraj.

Hi Guys,
Try to honour the good performer. Don't discourage the players. Yuvaraj hit this century at tough time 60/4. Keep in mind this century came after all gr8 players Dravid, VVS, Gambir, Jaffer got out at mere figures.
Try to honour Yuvy, classy Saurav and Pathan for their outstanding performance.

Dont always rely on Dravid, VVS and Tendulkar. Winning the match is a team effort.

Dont throw the words foolishly.

I think you are a fool despite of knowing Yuvi that how good player he is and how delighful strokes he plays. if you don\'t remember then i must tell you that Yuvi has scored a more than 80 runs in his very first match against australia. You should watch his batting first then reply me if you get sometime. raju81in@yahoo.com

Then why the more experienced dravid/ karthik / jaffer/ VVS didn't make runs in this flat pitch & with the absence of Akthar? Nonsense!

Every one will come to know what is AUSTRALIA the diamond, and where INDIA stands asked them to be ready for lower scores as if you deserves and you all really come to know where dhoni stands now a days dhoni is on top just because he is not taking tension and he dont have tension just because when the expectations is low determinations are high so when dhoni enters in to full swing means when he start winning 20 or 30 matches then the expectations are high and when expectations are high there is surely bound to be disappointments understand dear ganguly dravid are the examples INDIA MEIN SARKAR GIRTI THI AAJTAJ JHAT PAT SE AB INDIAN CAPTAINS BHI GIRTE HAI UNDERSTAND BACCHELOG YOU ALL BETTER UNDERSTAND .

DRAVID -OPEN OR RETIRE
by Ricky Thukral on Dec 09, 2007 10:49 AM  | Hide replies

Yuvraj has again shown why needs to be in playing 11 for the aussie tour.
Sachin Laxman and Ganguly have performed well in the last three meaningfull tours...against south africa...and england.

Dravid failed in south africa and england..now again...he is the worst in the line up apart from karthik.

So if Dravid wants to play he should be ready to open as we can use Laxman at number 3 in australia.
If we have to play two specialist openers then we need to drop dravid for laxman.

out middle order looks solid...sachin laxman yuvraj ganguly...

we need to get rid of the HOLE---DRAVID.

Oye| If India has to win Dravid has to perform.... He is the one who can perform in all grounds...... If he doesn't Indian team surely miss his technique which has made him the second after Anil who has won more matches for india

You are right...but we cant play someone because he performed in the past.We cant let Yuvraj wait and India suffer at what cost...because Dravid once was a good number 3....

what happened to this logice when Dravid forced the most successful indian captain joining hands with chappel...out of this team...after he had two scores in 30's...against pakistan and looked good...but got dropped for the next match,

Chappel said at that time some time u play well but dont get the runs..?

I feel sorry of Dravid. He's hit one of those bleak patches...I just hope he doesn't go out like this. But he'll always be remembered as a class act but I think the end is near - unless he resurrects his batting in the Aus tour; somehow I doubt it.

you are one of those who cant digest someone's success. why the people like you cant see someone perform?... you can just sit on the shore and criticise all those who take a plunge in the sea, because you urself cant do anything and cant even see others do something.

Congrats to Yuvraj...
by YoBro on Dec 09, 2007 09:24 AM  | Hide replies

...but let's keep things in perpective. The catch off him that was dropped by Younis when he was on 12, wouldn't be spilled by an Aussie slip cordon. And he has been playing 3 day matches - so its not like he hasn't been playing Tests. Further the curator made it clear that the ball would come on very nicely on to the bat here after every morning. The rate at which runs were being scored (Yuvi reached 100 off 75) was almost ridiculous; it was like batting on a mirror. Plus this is the weakest Pak attack in years. Akhtar has been virtually non-existent from the second Test on. But clearly, with his knock, the selectors have a major problem before the Boxing Day Test. Yuvi has to be included in the side - otherwise, it'll be a huge embarassment. About whether he'll make it into the playing eleven is another matter. Congrats to the centurions. I am looking forward to the rest of the Test and certainly hope it'll be a close finish.

RE:Congrats to Yuvraj...

I've always said that we can safely deduct 5 runs from the average of any Aussie batsman that did well in late 80s till today and add 5 to every player from the subcontinent - since they always play sub-standard bowlers (for e.g., being the top side during the last decade and more, esp. w.r.t bowling which is what makes them a champion Test side, they've never had to really face quality bowling - they make runs of lesser mortals) - and further they play a lot of Tests on home soil and in England which is almost like a second home for them - and the Ashes are always 5 Test series which boosts their averages heavily. So yes, I value Saurav's or Sachin's (or even Yuvi's - though he's played fewer Tests) batting average higher than a Ponting, Border or any other guy you can think of from down under - except Bradman, maybe - he was a freak of a player - they come along once in a century.

RE:Congrats to Yuvraj...

umm...I don't see the relevance of the question - it's not Ricky and company that'll have to prove a point to us in Dec-Jan, but Yuvi and the rest of our guys to them.
But yes, I've always maintained that one can safely deduct 5-10 runs from every Aussie batsman's average that played from late 80s till today because of the complete dominance of their bowlers, pacers and spin - who are largely responsible for their Test champion status. They never have to play quality bowlers of their own class - they score most of their runs against lesser mortals. Add to that the fact that they play a bulk of their Tests on "home like wickets" in Aus, Eng and SA (usually 5 Test series) and shorter series elsewhere. Likewise, one can add 5-10 runs to the average of every batsman from the subcontinent.

yuvraj i am pravin but my pen name is yuvraj so when ever you hit record i feel that as if i do that. remember when pravin ambre hit 100 in south africa in 1991 that day i played crackers like people do in diwali festival. yuvraj avoid hitting six as per as possible to avoid getting caught like sachin throws his wickets by loolypo catches like 23-3-2003 world cup final?keep yuvraj spirit means you are the next captain ( the legal heir of king is yuvraj)
