What I think is that if ICC starts supporting such cricket leagues, that will not be good for cricket. Tomorrow there might be a ACL (Australian cricket league) or something else. If we have such multiple leagues, the interest in cricket will fade. Cricket is a game played at national level and there should be ONE team per country.

When in one State there can be 2 teams, ex.. Maharashtra & Mumbai teams. Why can't 2 teams represent India BCCI and ICL team.

mr ramesh dutta.. there will be no team ever which will satisfy me , u or matter of the fact 100 million people of india... kaif VVS and irfan ..on what basis they r eligible to come to indian side...kaif is far from consistant... vvs is terrible runner between the wickets and pathan is out of sorts... he forgot to bowl and bat...if BCCI and ICC are making money...its their credit..whats worng with it...They have marketed the game well. They are spending lot and lot of money to make the game global...BCCI too is spending lot of money in Juniour cricket... opening up acdemies....Will ICL will do this ever... never.... they will organise only 20-20 cricket to earn money...They are spoiling indian cricket..they are luring cricketers...shame on ICL....Why can't ICL spends money on Weeker state sides like assam, Kerela, bihar etc. to uplift the standard in this states

BCCI has direct links with ICC
by Anshul on Aug 29, 2007 08:37 AM

BCCI and ICC are best friends. May be Mr.Sharad Pawar giving huge amount of money to ICC so that ICC doesn't recognize ICL. Hence, it's obvious to see these kind of statements from ICC. Now-a-days there's nothing called as true cricket. Cricket is the medium just for entertainment and making money (for Indian players specially). That's the reason Indian players don't want to follow the performance based system even

Changing Times

Cricket is no more a sports now and becoming and entertainment industry. People would pay money only to those matches that are nail bitting...Offcourse ICL would make every effort to get this right..Time would come when people would prefer ICL matches over World series(eg World cup in West Indies)..sooon BCCI would be lossing its revenues as sponsors would put money on what people watch and not on what players play..

Why would ICC be foolish enough to recognize ICL and kill the goose that lays golden eggs. After, BCCI contributes 50% of ICC's coffers... there is no way ICC is going to antagonize BCCI

ICL should be independent
by CricFan on Aug 29, 2007 06:03 AM  | Hide replies

They should not apply to ICC or BCCI for recognition. They should create their own league similar to NBA or NFL and invite clubs from all over the world to participate, rather than just restricting to India. After some time when top players and clubs start signing up for ICL then this league will take center stage.

Subhas Chandra can join hands with likeminded millionaires in Aus, Engl etc and start parallel clubs across other cricket playing nations. They can then sign up players and compete among each other. This would definitly be a crowd puller

FIRST AND FOREMOST STEP/CRITERIA

How much vitamin M is going to be contributed by ICL to ICC & its members?

If that is more than expected then those bloody ICCans will never care for the rest
