FIRST AND FOREMOST STEP/CRITERIA

How much vitamin M is going to be contributed by ICL to ICC & its members?

If that is more than expected then those bloody ICCans will never care for the rest

Ban both BCCI and ICL
by Greg Chappal on Aug 28, 2007 11:17 PM  | Hide replies

in fact, both BCCI and ICL should be banned.

better if cricket is banned. such a waste of time.

game is defined as 2 stupids trying to hit ball , 11 idiots chasing the ball and 2 confused umpiring over it.

in a test match, whole circus goes on for five full days, sometimes without a result.

BCCI is a foster child of ICC!

What do you expect out of ICC. Anything better than what they have said. BCCI is a holy cow for them and why should they shoot it. Crazy if you think otherwise.

BCCI and ICC make a good coterie and naturally they need to support each other. But then I doubt if ICL keeps mum on this issue as ICC may have bitten more than it can chew. There could be a competitive body to ICC as well, buddy!

We will not give ICL recognition: ICC
by Kumar on Aug 28, 2007 07:34 PM

The only good thing that ICL has done is that its woken up BCCI. Now, BCCI is putting money where it should be put and planning to train young cricketers.

Good work ICL. With out you, BCCI would still be sleeping

What is ICC's contribution for the future of Indian Cricket?

What is ICC's right to boo at indian talents...

BCCI is a pvt company regd. in Tamil Nadu, not recognized by Government of India or Ministry of sports...

Infact BCCI neglected all other sports in india in the past...
Now they have to get recognized by the government then only they can boast as indian cricket guroos..

Sure that we'll have a cabinet minister for cricket very soon...

In that case government employ professionals to select national team from all leagues...

so bcci will be stepping down as a pvt company like icl in future

just as v can ask who is bcci to ban icl, similar way who is icc the deciding authority to ban icl?
where were the icc when all masala matches were played in sharjah, toronto, etc. places? where was icc when 6 a side tourneys played in some countries? what logic is to ban icl matches? even icc is hand in glove with bcci. icc knows india is the main source of revenue for them thru bcci.

Hi Ajay Kumar,
I agree with you on point that BCCI has not done enough to support cricket.
At the same time its ok with me BCCI banning players who are with ICL. This is because how will BCCI handle situation if player is working for both BCCI and ICL and have schedule conflict? What ICL is trying to do is getting its players to have secure jobs with BCCI and at the same time play for ICL. This does not look correct.
ICC is also ok in not allowing another body to represent country.
Imagine if you have 20 Indian teams 7 Australian teams, 5 English team.
Worldcup will take 5 years to complete . ICC does not want to put this precident.

Cricket Controllers - Murdabad
by Manish Dhoot on Aug 28, 2007 06:30 PM  | Hide replies

Even a child would agree that cricket, the way it is being treated, is becoming dirty politics instead of healthy sport.

Every cricket fan will be dissappointed for what is happening to sport. Can I ask BCCI or ICC - the reason to monopolise cricket. If these international bodies are restrictive and damaging sports - because of whatever motive - it is a loss to game and game lovers. It is hurting the feelings of billion of cricket fans.
Please have an sportive attitude and welcome what is good. Who knows whether your four tests are correct or wrong.Do not reject ICL only because it is competition or it does not fit your criteria. If the game of cricket is benefited by anything, please respect and welcome that. Do not become Cricket Controller, become Cricket Promoter !!!

Hai Manish....
I would like share some my thoughts on your point...
we must have a organisation such as the ICC. its a internationally recognised body governing cricket activities... do you agree on that...
if so, all cricket playing nations and its boards...are recognised by it...

it says that BCCI is its recognised board.. then they are the promoters and administrators...in India.

CRICKET CAN NOT BE SAVED IF EVERY ONE SAY HE WANTS TO PROMOTATE CRICKET AND START AN ORGANISATION LIKE ICL.. WE REALLY DON'T KNOW THEIR MOTIVES. WE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO PLAY THE GAME WITH ITS SPIRIT.

NO WILL AGREE IF YOU LAW IN YOUR OWN HANDS AND SAY I WANT TO UPHOLD AND PROMOTE JUSTICE..

EVERYTHING HAS A ORGANISATION SETUP, RULES AND REGULATIONS...
LETS RESPECT IT AND IMPROVE THE GAME THROUGH THE RIGHT CHANNELS

Hey Owais,
we do not want to start controversy here. There are 2 kar's who already joined ICL. I am surprised to see many people who talk against having regional bias exactlydo same whenits their turn.

Who wants ICC's recognition?
by cebu on Aug 28, 2007 06:27 PM

_____________________________

ICC is an out side body to India

If they 'play'too much, ICL will out grow bcci

who knows if one day ICL kind of bodies could be formed in all crickeing coutires..

In that case ICC will get a global competitior, may be with nations like USA, China and Russia and many european nations also as members, coz this 20/20 game is possible for all counties...

So ICC also will have problems in future

Reason is in all cricketing countries there are too many talents waiting but never getting a seat in the so called national sides...

If they get an opportunity and money as well, they will turn back to icc, bcci, acb, nzb and all...

Example in Australia itself, talents to form 5 national sides are waiting to get into the aussie team...

No one can control them..

In future players will be migrating from one league to another and ICC and the current junks of bcci will be on lookers...

Latest Verdict from Supreme Court in India
by R Roy on Aug 28, 2007 06:22 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI do not have any authority to ban the players sign for ICL and also, they cannot take ownership of anygrounds and stop giving to ICL for play. First setback for BCCI after they started thinking ICL is a competitor for them....

Powar wake up soon else, ICL will nominate team to next Worldcup and BCCI will jus sit and watch the match in the TV :)

The BCCI leases out the grounds from the state governments!! Here the state governemnty which owns the ground is the lessor and the BCCI is the lessee!! As it is a financial lease, the BCCI can claim deperciation on the facilites for tax exemption and for all practical purposes, the BCCI owns the facilites during the lease period!!

Once the lease period is over, the state government can decide what it wants to do with its facilites!!

That is the state of affairs, atleast as far as the Eden Gardens is concerned!!
