what should do when 20/20 get tie redo match like 2/2
by on Apr 09, 2008 10:54 AM

I THINK WHEN TWENTY/20 MATCH GET TIE BOTH FOR BETTER RESULT RE DO THE MATCH LIKE BOTH THE TEAM SHOULD HAVE BOWL ATLEAST 5 OVERS OR ATLEAST 2 OVER LETS SAY IF THE MATCH GET TIE RE DO MATCH AND EACH TEAM SHOULD HAVE BOWL 2 OVERS EACH BOWLER CAN DO ONLY THREE BOWLS SO IN THIS WAY FOUR BOWLER WOULD DO BOWLING AND EACH BOWLER WOULD BE ABLE TO DO ONLY 3 BOWLS I THINK THIS IS BEST SOLUTION FOR THE ANY MATCH THAT GET TIE BECAUSE IN THIS WAY EVERY PLAYER GET THE CHANCE IN WIINNING and 20/20 would call 2/2 when its get tie

packer series
by Ajay Kumar on Aug 25, 2007 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

it was said during those rebellion series, that indian players are not money minded thats y they hvnt shown interest in kerry packer circus. packer hired many but no indians in them!
it is irony that now india is going to hv another packer like series which challenges authority of bcci. but the blame here lies with bcci themselves for their autocratic approach in handling even a simple situation.

ICL and WSC

If ICL is no match to Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket, then why should BCCI is scared of it? To such an extent, that it has decided to ban the player, who joined ICL, for life. Does patriotism mean that whether BCCI selects a player or not, knowing pretty well that he had no chance of ever getting selected, should stay from ICL? Is there any such patriotism on display from any of our politicians? They change parties and are more wily than the chameleons.

personally i dont see anything wrong in cricketers singing up for ICL.
every one has a right to play circket and right to play to earn their own big bucks....
It is not BCCIs concern where the players are playing.
perhaps ICC should choose its schedule so that it doesnt clash with ICL. that way cricketrs can choose to do what they like giving them more freedom.
secondly, it is the cricketers who toil the most and the revenue eaten away by the board.
finally it is the Indian cricket team players who end up making any reasonable money.
but there are many talented youngsters, who lov the game, play good cricket, but not that much to make the cut.
ICL provides them one such option to make money, to take care of their expenses.
Now bcci is making a big deal, becuase if ICL becomes a hit and more and more players join it, then they eat away a considerable chunk of their pie and would see a decrease in revenue.

Hi Cricket Ethusiasts
Share ur thoughts !!
If WSC Kerry Parker gave DAY/Night matches, Coloured clothes/ Helmets etc etc as u know

What changes/suggestions to ICL should so.

1)I say they should allow all 3 umpires to collective give contoversial decision.
To avoid KP vs SG kind of situation.
Other umpires shud intervene immediately if a wrong decision is made.
2) Balls can be changed as per will. Spinner can use old. Pacers use new. Shud give advantage to Bowlers..

Some more like minded thoughts welcome

Hi Vinod,

20/20 should be high scoring match, then only spectators enjoy the match. Already the players in ICL dont have much stuff ( except very few ).
If bowlers use the ball as per their will, then batsmen can not score much.. if they score 80 -100 runs in 20/20 then no one will come to the match ( I guess already no one will go to stadium to watch the matches ).

on the contrary, 20-20 would be good.
may be a hit in the future. of all the games now, only cricket is the game which takes for ever to finish.
football, hockey base ball etc are short games.
but certainly exciting as well. initially people thought the same about 1 day matches too. but now they are the hit.
rather than the runs, it is the fun and the excitement which will bring the crowds to the stadium.
and needless to say, if it is played under lights.. it makes up for a nice way to spend the evening. with out wasting the day. may be it is good news for the companies.

20-20 seems fully loaded in favour of batsman. i think ppl shud b able to watch a good contest between bat n ball n not all the batsman hitting bowler for 4s n 6s. for that bowlers shud also b given due support. recently in odis, after extending powerplays from 15 ovrs to 20 ovrs, bowlers had been hit hard. no doubt y teams want 7 batsman n 4 bowlers. if the trend continues, then combination of team will be 9 batsman 2 bowlers.

What a stupid comparison
by vinod v on Aug 24, 2007 02:17 PM

There is no way u can compare ICL to WSC.
Something ur trying to compare Kollywood (Regional movies) to Hollywood.

WSC was headon with ICC
ICL is headon to BCCI, for heaven sake understand this !!!
The kid is yet to be born ...They r only in marriage preparation stage..now honeymoon..pending (Tournament to be played and won)
May be one day ICL grows big with more better players and teams then you can say compare with WSC.
Dont predict light years from now !!

I think only worth player to notice in ICL is Mohamad Yousuf. Rest all just fill ups.
All waiting for some magic.
Why dont rope in Kallis, heath streak,Zimbabwe promising break away players not retired.
Trescothick, Eng & Aus & NZ players.

WSC did it at a time when there wasnt a rebel series before. ICL has a legacy of WSC to break, and also the cricket changed considerably. what ICL did is to wake up the world's richest board out of its stupor and arrogance. ICC isnt threatended, and they want some trouble to BCCI. i think, ICL has created the necessary impact, i hope it will be successful. cricket, the game isnt proprietary, and can be played by anyone. BCCI with its mismanaging bungling idiots needs a kick desperately to come into senses. for too far, their circus has been going unchallenged. they are the only comic captains whose wealth is unaccounted for, their actions not challenged. thier stupidity and ego has cost india many a test series, bad player management has left us poorer of great players.

Ok this is what the Rediff thinks..or this is what it assumes and patronages..BCCI..ICL is not good enough? ICL is not as good as WSC?..while WSC has not done any thing to BCCI, ICL has borught BCCI to its senses..that is good enough and more..it is not rebel league...it is the league..BCCI I beleive is going to start a rebel league...does it have guts..that the ICL has? It has money but GUTS..No..when ICL was proposed it was not as though it is to oppose BCCI but to assist it..but BCCI sees ICL as a competetor..I hope these politicians have their right ful end..ANYWAY THIS IS ONLY THE STARTING LETS SEE WHAT ELSE THE ICL WILL DO...I HAVE ALL THE HOPE IN ICL..IF SOME ONE GOES AND INVESTIGATES, WILL FIND SOME INTERESTING THINGS IN MATCH FIXING EVEN THAT INVOLVES B-C-C-I

From the abbreviation itself it is evident that the BCCI Stands for "Board Of CONTROL For CRICKET".i.e. it believes in Controling and arm-twisting and mint money for the committe members, nothing for the development of game/players.A selfish organisation patronising sycophants, promoting regionalism and doesn't come under the purview of "LAW of The LAND",& it clearly states that players are playing for BCCI & not the country. Its Strange but True.Hope that ICL will bring fresh air and there will be no "Match Fixing" otherwise it will fail.
