Next WC team
by Priyadarshan on Aug 17, 2007 10:32 AM  | Hide replies

presently selected team (excluding tendliya/gangu) is perfectly fit for next WC
youngsteres like gautam/uthapa/karthik are dynamic match winners. Of course dravid is an old horse but he will motivate these youngsters.

you r rite ..

sachine & ganguly r shameless & they themself should ritire before r kicked out ...

this will create opportunity for younsters as well ..

non retirement of oldies indicate their greed for money & not love for cricket ..

I think in recent months Ganguly has played remarkably well. There would be hardly any peers for him the world over, leave aside India alone. Does it make sense to criticise him at this juncture? I think there is more prejudice, regional or otherwise, than cricketing thinking.

Revised Target for India in the ODI against Scotland
by S. RAMACHANDRAN on Aug 17, 2007 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

While Scotland had scored only 203 runs for 9 wkts in 49 overs, how D/L rule could set a target of 209 in 46 overs for india, 6 more runs than what Scotland had actually scored??

Scotland didn't know until very late in their innings that the number of overs has been reduced to 46, hence they get the benefit of 6 runs.

Whats the final scores !!??
by Sweet on Aug 17, 2007 10:01 AM  | Hide replies

I am astounded with the final score of India, how can we score 212, when the target is just 205? Even a last ball 6 won't take us to 212. I have also checked in cricbuzz.com and the scores seem to be the same as reported by rediff!! Whats happening !!?? Does anyone know what the truth is?

Hi Sweet,

That's the charm of the Duckworth and Lewis method. We required 209 runs to win.

Our so called sincere n matured Indian ppl r again barking on cricket , actually either team wins r losses, they ppl r just to bark, they get something to bark, this time on captaincy bcoz they cant digest that
1)      dravid won 3 overseas ( out of sub continent ) matches in 25 test n ganguli in 3 ( leave Zim ) in 49 test , so who is better
2)       in one days dravid%u2019s winning percentage is better than ganguli, , so who is better
3)      if ganguli has some glories in long period then dravid also in short perod, so who is better
4)      if zaheer was fit n bowlers were fit, then why did they take 15 over (approx) to bowl out 10 the wicket of eng in 1st inning
5)      n why did not zaheer got any wicket in secong inning, n why did he go again just after bowling 4 over in second inning
6)      ppl forget it is not dravid r ganuli due to them Indian team was winning, when players click team wins otherwise not, so captain is as good as team
7)      ppl will see in future whoever will lead the team his stats would be better , it is very natural, it has nothing to do with captaincy, it is relevant with team efforts,
8)      ssome ppl say if ganguli r pointing had been , they would have imposed follow on, perhaps they forget it was ganguli who took even third day to bat , n did not imposed follow on on 4th day even being leading by 225 bcoz he did not want to take risk as series was at par, n when did ponting impose follow on, if any1 knows tell me plz, however here dravid had already won the series n d
