Your id is apt. You could use "fluke" in cricket in incidents that span a short amount of time. But a century. I don't think so. Semantics aside it is a great achievement for a bowler. How many part time bowlers have taken a test 5-fors?

No one is taking pride in that......But kumble shd be proud that he is the first indian batsman to score a century in this test series.
Even though u r not proud...atleast be happy for ur fellow indian inspite of religion, state or caste.
By the by imp notice to every one - AB is a paki and he is here to create hatred.......plz dont fall for him and dont reply him(for ur own safety)....

Spare us the sarcasm. Heck it was amazing. This is from a true number eight batsmen. I for one am real happy for him and team India. it will definitely put a spring in his bowling.
If you go by "one false stroke ruins an innings" principle then you will never find a good knock

Funny...I was the very ground (Oval) a few years ago, wearing a T-Shirt imprinted with the image of Kumble bowling with his bandages on(in Windies). A fighter he is, indeed!
Lets face it .. there is no point in denying it .. If I feel proud that someone from South has done well whats wrond with that .. It doesnt mean that I am not proud of India .. I am .. But we are all regional .. Thats the relaity .. no pint in running from it ..
RE:India is regional ..
by Gopal Krishna on Aug 11, 2007 03:19 AM
For most Indians, identity is governed by the following hierarchy, like it or not. The order is debatable, but there are many layers of separation between self and nation!
Level 1 - Self Level 2 - Family Level 3 - Caste Level 4 - Language Level 5 - City Level 6 - State Level 7 - Zone/Region Level 8 - India
RE:India is regional ..
by Captain Obvious on Aug 11, 2007 03:36 AM
I don't think most broadminded people identify with caste. I should qualify this as my limited experience.
Identity also depends on the context of interaction. When you meet a foreigner my guess is most would just identify themselves as Indians and not say speaking language Y from state Z. But when you meet another Indian, you might mention zone/state.

I am not sure if you've heard of Orkut, the social networking site popular with Indians. Most Indians there are educated, but most of them are members of their caste communities. On Orkut, joining a community is a means of flagging ones identity and making a statement. Caste identity is very strong among us, next only to family.

Only for people who think like you. Which state do you live? What religion do you belong? What did you learn from your life so far? Is this all?

I know about AB...he is a paki.I have seen him many times bashing the indians....today he is again here to create hatred....
Indians are the worst people in the world. We all Indians know only to foul mouth others and comment on others. Every single player in the team has played well but we say why dravid did not make 100. why ganguly did not score 50. why tendulkar played so slowly. What is your problem guys. Guys in this forum are not talented. they dont like talented people. All they know is to accuse others. In front of the whole world we are making ourself fools. Dont you guys realize that. Why are you guys always regional, caste, religion based. Are you guys not Indians. Do you ever see India as India rather than marathi, bengali, karnataka or whatever states. Very few people who know cricket talk about cricket and share their comments.OTHERS JUST USE THIS FORUM TO FIGHT AND ABUSE.If you are so interested in fighting why dont you guys join Indian ARMY.
Please guys behave like humans and be considerate to others.

I can talk worst than you can even imagine. But I dont like to do that in internet as i can do it when i face you in real life. If you have guts to face a MAN please give me your mobile number and your address. If you cant do that and just sit in the internet and abuse others in the forum where millions can see. THEN DONT CALL YOURSELF MAN. As mens dont like to talk behind.

Stop being melodramatic. Half the fun in watching sport is armchair analysis which naturally leads to criticism. FYI: Criticism isn't the same as abuse

I have seen on roads when there is no traffic policeman the traffic moves smoothly but when a pandu is there invariably there is traffic jam ! same is the case with our cricket team after greg chappell was kicked out it has started performing better
Now our team looks like a real Unit. I think before there was a gang(sehwag, bhajji, yuvi, zak) which took their places for granted screwed the team even though they were talented. zak is bak with a better attitude and even better performance. Sehwag and bhajji are also learning the lesson the hard way. I am sure they will comebak as good team players. A lot of credit should go to chappel. This is what he envisioned in his mind when he tactlessly criticized and took on the players.

by zzzzz zzzzz on Aug 11, 2007 03:25 AM
Another chappell lover...can't seem to get out of the losers' shadow. By your screwed up logic, past coaches deserve the credit or blame and not the current team/coach.
Stop licking Chappell's chappal! He's gone and it's a great relief.
One century and so much hue and cry. No point doing that. Even he would not hit that century India would have been in a good position either. He did a great job but nothing to be so much shout about it. In the fag end of his career he got it but you should remember that this is a depleted England side with their three best test bowlers (Harmison, Hoggard, Flintoff). plus England is not that good anyway now. So don't enjoy too much. Best part is India played as a team after a long time. One thing we have to admit that Tendulkar is very slow now as he has changed his batting style now. He wasn't like that before. There were legends who never changed their style. I don't want to take names but Tendulkar definitely is very slow and this is because he is a soft player who has changed his aggression. You can name it anything but that's the fact.
Heartiest Congratulation to Kumble for mis maiden ton against the British. Also like to congratulate Team India for there performance in England. They have shown that they are united and if they come out as an Unit they are really unbeatable....
It's time to say that, Australian Guru really ruined Indian Cricket Team...
After putting up this strange performance, Kumble has confessed that he was not feeling well. He said, he knew something was wrong with him today. He said, he would normally topple down and even fall while facing a yorker ball. But today he felt different. He also said that normally his nerve impulses travel very slowly to his brain. But becuase he was sick today, the impulses/reflexes travelled faster to his brain than usual.
In todays competitive cricketing world scoring century once in a decade is not a joke. Kumble ko akele ko World Cup de do!
