ICC - India Vs West Indies Match
by Valerie on Oct 27, 2006 05:19 PM  | Hide replies

In addition to bearing the loss, you have to bear the brunt of expert commentators - some who rarely left their mark on the game, some who've only watched the game from the 'box', some fashion and elocution display.

When Irfan came later down the order, these very commentators were of the opinion that he should be promoted up the order ... today it's a different story, tomorrow if we win ... it will be a good decision.

So Dravid the trick is to win ... else tongues will continue to wag.

You are true my friend, when we are winning every one says, full credit to Chappel/Dravid and columns like "Is pathan the next Kapil Dev" e.t.c come up.
I wonder how come Mr Ravishastri is not talking a word about Great Shehavag ??? come on Pathan if you look at last 20 matches is more consistant than GREAT Shehavag, so why cry on pathan ??? when Shehavag is gonna score a 50 ??? if he is not consistant why not remove him and bring Ghambir/Utappa and give them same number of chances, before deciding if they are a replacement for him ?? when you are loosing these things are magnified.... and the idea of Vengsarkar stepping in to suggest on who should play where is horrendous then after 10 matches Sharath powar comes and finally Lalu prasad Yadav also would come and say ok send Bajji and Shreesanth to open the innings and let Kaif/dravid open the bowling attack !!!
So Dravid and team, believe in yourselves and kick the opponents asses... when the going gets tough, tough keeps going... the win againest Aus would bring you back to normalcy otherwise all the dogs will bark at you ...Chappel/Vengsarakar and Selection team be honest on deciding who is performing and who is not and act.

Well said Valerie, it seems the definition of a gud stratergy is the one that works. Else if u loose the match, u hv these no gud ex-cricketers and non-cricketers running their mouth on stratergies.

Dear Valerie, tongues have always wagged and will continue to wag. Result matters and it always mattered. Playing Irfan Pathan at no 3 was a great idea, repeating it everytime is foolish, even if some days it gives results. Dravid knows that tongues wag, else he wouldnt have been the captain in the first place. we would have stuck to the glory days of his predecessor.
Lets get the team going, rather than criticizing critics. By the way, Shastri wasnt the greatest player, but has always been a sensible commentator. And no one has commented on abilities of Dravid, just we would like him to take us to the next level.

Aniket
composition of indian team
by Aniket on Oct 27, 2006 05:08 PM

As Mr. Ravi Shastri has mentioned, it is really the foolhardiness of the Indian Think Tank to repeatedly send Irfan Pathan up the order. I admit he is a very good allrounder but he has lost his confidence After the WestIndies tour. The team which at almost the bottom of the table is turning the tables on the fourth ranked team. Droping Dinesh Mongia is also a fault of the Think Tank. Why do have him in the team then? We have not given him any chance. Suresh Raina should be dropped, i think he has been given enough of chances. Its too much of experiment to no results. RP Singh's inclusion would also raise an eyebrow or two (in west indies match). India was better off with Ramesh Powar..Well i am afraid to say that its all over for India at the Champions Trophy...
It is not a DO or DIE situation for INDIA but DO for Australia and DIE for INDIA.
Only a miracle can Help India now.

Uthappa is one of the best alternative for any player in current indian team.
