Lifting ban and freeing him from all allegation now will returned no pride but hurt him like anything or I think this will be the another kind of punishment.

About Azhar's axing
by Jacob on Oct 20, 2006 11:07 PM

Granted, Azhar did not deserve the punishment. But it was only after Azhar's removal from the Indian team that the Indian team actually started coming up. Under Ganguly, our team became one of the best in all departments. How can one forget the Aus-Ind clash 2001 (the one where Laxman & Bhajji destroyed the "Last Frontier"). Probably all that couldn't have been achieved if Azhar was still in the team.

Azhar is a better batsman and definitely a better fielder than Ganguly. But the ecstasy Ganguly provided to Indian cricket is unmatched. Dravid could become India's greatest captain if and only if he wins the '07 World Cup!!

The bottomline is this. Azhar definitely did not deserve the punishment. But his sacking was for the good of the entire team.

Cheers,

Jacob.

Azahar ban matter
by B.D.Pathak on Oct 20, 2006 07:01 PM

Subject: Azhar's Ban:Was it Politically Motivated?

For many of my friends amd myself the decision to ban Azhar from cricket appeared to be a politically motivated one just before he was about to become the first person to score 10,000 runs in one day cricket. He was the most succesful captain of the Indian cricket Team despite many in the team not liking him and not cooperating with him. Team India was not as coherent during his time as it is now. All of us know that he gave his best for the country during his tenure and was the best palyer of the team interms of fitness and fielding not to speak of batting. Injustice done to him and others cannot be rectified but their acheivements atleast can be rewarded and BCCI should start paying the pension to all those on whom the ban was imposed like it does to other players.Really he is a wonder boy and we proud of Azahar and there ability it is my request of Decision taker please see your face on mirror how much they also Honest to take such type of irresponsible decision, why not they punished.

those responsible for this shit must be punished now!!coz theyve done irrepairable damage to the most successful captian of india! so that in future ppl think twice before doing such a dastardly act!!!

Azhar a great player
by Harold on Oct 20, 2006 06:41 PM

Azhar was no doubt a great player and a great Captain. He should be reinstated into the Indian team immediately. The only way to give justice to Azhar is by giving the greatest Indian Award "Bharat Ratna".

Azhar's career

Decision Azhar is too late and serves no purpose. If inducted at this stage his reentry will affect budding youngsters.
One should note that though the punishment was too harsh and calling at this stage as improper is also improper. In case of celebreties they enjoy the power and fame when their group of adminstration is strong.
All said and done what Azhar did was wrong and CBI though has towed middle path the reports of such agencies as seen in celebrties case is never transperant.
BCCI should rethink in this matter.Only a letter of apology in this respect to Azhar will be a great reward and his utilization for the game may be much meaningful.

Azhar should be pardoned
by vishvaksenah on Oct 20, 2006 06:34 PM

Azhar should be pardoned.
Why?
To help secularism.
He is a Muslim.
He can do no wrong.

Just as Afzal Guru has been let off the hook, Azhar will also be set free.

Long live secularism.
Long live Gandhigiri.
