Highly Condemnable is the only way one can describe Mr.JYLele's current opinion on Azhar's ban.Having been a party to the"original act(SIN,now, according to him)",he seem to be the same old fumbling man.Having very little to show of cricketing understanding all thru his tenure(and now cannot claim to be better off),this man goes on saying""In its report, CBI only suspected Azhar to be involved in the scandal for his frequent telephonic talks with a bookie. But this can't prove that he had fixed matches,".The very fact that a bookie is spoken to frequently during match period is a circumstantial evidence unless that bookie is a close relative or better still a brother of the accused.Pardon is a meaningful word only if the accused accepts guilt or is cooperative in getting at the truth, but does not entirely plead ignorance to evidence presented to him.Current and past office bearers of BCCI will do well if they do not try and defend any cricketer punished for a well defined crime and they should know that a young career can be made if one guilty leaves the arena; and those indulging in such acts are highly greedy of money and must face the consequence.THE GAME is GREATER than PLAYER

AZHAR'S BAN
by Dhanesh Kumar Nair on Oct 25, 2006 06:02 PM

It was a very sad that BCCI and ICC had put a ban on Azharudin which has not only spoiled the career of him but also lost a most successful captain for India. Under his leadership Indian team was very comfortable and was able to defeat any team in the world. We never find any captain after him and he deserve his place back in Indian team. Also request BCCI to lift the ban immediately and should involve him all the functions which are related to Cricket or the board. Thanks.

Ban on azhar
by Pravin C Deshpande on Oct 25, 2006 12:57 PM

Life ban on Azhar and Ajay Jadeja is seems to be entirely politically motivated.Internal politics has played more roll on ruining carrer of many players. It should not happen as it affects growth and performance of Indian cricket at international level. It is affecting moral and performance of team players and new younger players.

Australia,South Africa has never banned their top players like Gibbs,Mark Wagh,Shane Warn.Even found guilty in match fixing their key players are allowed to play by giving fine or ban for smaller period. Those countries give more priority to growth and position of their cricket team in the international level.BCCI also to think on this and study the actions taken by other countries on their players with respect to the involvement of the players in the match fixing. I feel BCCI was very much harsh and biased while imposing this ban on Azhar and Jadeja.Younger player like Jadeja has lost his career on account of this wrong decision which seems to be politically motivated.

Regardless of how closely or loosely the cricketers were associated with the bookies the fines should be strict so that they serve as a deterrent for other circketers. I am glad there were life bans and if any remote link is found beteen cricketers and bookies they should be banned. These people make a lot of money and should be smart enough to not get involved with anyone that poses a threat to the integrity of the game in any which way shape or form.

We say cricket is the game played by 11 players. Can 1 or 2 palyer can change the reslut if yes than what was the other player doing on tjat time. It is impossible that other player( our great player ) do not know what was going in the dressing room. If they know than they are also has to be get punishment. if Azar and Jadeja are guilty than they should get the punishment(already got)if not than they should get their due.

Ban on Azhar

It was a total traversity of justice in Azhars case.We have yet to see batsman with such elegance and grace.I believe his personal problems had an adverse effect. Why that should be.I am sure Azhar will all take it in the correct spirit.

AZar

Azar was a talented young boy of Hyderabad. He got involved in many areas with out self descipline in life. There is no point in banning Azar as he himself had banned his good perfomance due to his personal problems perhaps. We were not seeing a good perfomance from Azar for a long time before his ban was enforced.Perhaps, that he is now settled in his new enviornment, he may have a better mental balance to perform. But it is too late to expect much from him .

Lele's remark on Azhar's career
by N.SRINIVASAN on Oct 21, 2006 08:19 AM

BCCI president, SP, being a politician, is playing his hidden agenda of improving his party NCP, by raking up Azhar's issue only because he claimed to be a minority and Lele is a bag-carrier, after all a fellow Marathi. Will people read through this and demand silence.
