Where are we heading?
by Mallik on Oct 19, 2006 10:22 PM

Are we going to honour those on whose integrity some doubt has been cast. The doubt is about selling our nation(even if it is in a game of cricket).
I would ask Mr. Shetty, if the courts proved that he is guily, would he change the clock and stop the felicitation that he gives for a cricketer who\'s name is linked to the betting scandal.
Is our Country smaller than a cricketer? Do we not mind if they sold our country just because as a cricketer he was a pure delight.
Ask him to disprove the charges and we can all felicitate them. There is no hurry in it. Why bring the ICC into picture when you just have to ask yourself whether it is correct or not?

Well said

I totally support Mr. Shetty and condemn the talk of Mr. Malcom Speed and Mr. Richardson. I think they are hypocrites, just trying to make glamorous statements to sound very philanthrophic. Dave Richardson has no rights or business to that. That puny little character who hardly knew how to hold the ball is now trying to talk very big, when two of his country men are accused with the scandal. Off course one of them was caught red-handed. Azhar is yet to be proved. That stupid idiot A C Muthaiah has banned him with no definite proof till this day. This shows the height of hypocrisy and trying to be nice

Please support Azhar
by SACHIN on Oct 19, 2006 07:16 PM

Everybody please support Azhar. He was the only Indian Batsmen at that point of time who used to give 100% all the time. Well He is still fighting against the injustice compared to other who have admitted thir mistake and are still playing, like Gibbs , Warne.
Infact MArk Waugh is not discussed only.

It was really a harsh decision on him. Imagine what he will be going on his heart beacuse he was the darling of India at one point of time and what he is going through now.

Atlast BCCI Realized
by Raheem on Oct 19, 2006 06:56 PM

Yes, Shetty used really good words in supporting Azhar. Like Azhar, other country players also did mistakes, but their countries did not punish their players like BCCI punished Azhar.

Atleast while punishing Azhar, BCCI should have though how Azhar led india in many of the matches.

Yes, i really appreciate the BCCI's move towards supporting Azhar and finally Azhar's ban should be removed and he should give a chance to live happily like other cricketers.

BCCI slams Speed
by Nishant on Oct 19, 2006 04:31 PM

I think now BCCI has some thinking minds who are looking above than their personal lives. Not only BCCI but all asian country's cricket boards should give a firm reply to the ICC that this double standard policy will no longer be tolerated.

WELCOME DECISION
by lalitha_srik on Oct 19, 2006 02:40 PM

I would rather blame Muthiah for doing injustice to this case. On any day I would strongly support Azhar and my gut feelings Azhar has nothing to do with the match fixing scandal. I rank him as top 10 Indian batsman and maybe best fielder after solkar. How can anybody blame a person who has scored more than 15,000 international runs with 28 centuries, it is ridiculous. After Gibbs recent statement with Indian police which referred to Nagpur ODI in year 2000 when Azhar was not even in the ODI squad BCCI handed a harsh judgement againt Azhar. As ex-captain he still holds the most victories in ODI's and having served the Indian team for almost 15 yrs, in my opinion he was treated shabbily. Now that BCCI have realised the mistake let us all join together and give Azhar what is due to him.

Azhar the Indian Cricketer

Yes..Yes...Yes...I strongly support the BCCI decision....Azhar is one among the rarest cricketers in the World...Just ignore ICC and Malcom and Let Azhar join other way of the main stream of cricket, if not as one amongst 11 of the Indian Blues ...

Azhar's inclusion & Facilitation
by Murthy on Oct 19, 2006 09:02 AM

Dear All,

Azhar's so called BAN should be lifted and for the Function, he should be invited and facilitated, as he brought many many laurels to our country with his stylish batting, extra ordinary fielding and most successful captancy. I think, if he (Azhar) is not invited, nobody should be invited for the function. As no proof of evience came out so far, even then he has been punished more than Five years. If at all there was any guilty on his part, this so called punishment itself is more than sufficient. My only request is that he should be allowed (selected) for his 100th Test, as it was his only ambition. Present BCCI is requested to accommodate im, as he is even now 100% FIT than any other Cricketers. Please consider.

With regards,

Yours

Murthy/Ramrajanagar

BCCI good job
by raj on Oct 19, 2006 08:43 AM

I support our beloved BCCI secretary's remarks. ICC has a double standard approach, i feel its a racial approach. ICC never commented on Warne, Gibbs, Mark Waugh or any players from England, Australia or south Africa eventhough they had admitted to wrong doings. we should voice strong protest against any such statements by ICC. I am a fan of Azhar , I missed his action for all these years. I hope court exonerates him.
