WTF
by Nomad on Nov 25, 2006 03:44 PM

Now, this is funny..the bloody politicians of india are demanding an explanation from BCCI for indian defeats..just goes on to show how "busy" these "public caretakers" are. If I were a politician, I would be busy thinking about how to save my ass and do my job, rather than worry about how good a job others are doing. Coming to cricket, its really sad to see india losing like this, but I think its more of a mind thing more than anything else. The simple problem is the public i.e us..If India wins, it is hailed as the greatest team in the world, and if they lose, fingers are pointed in all directions and the blame-game starts..I think it is precisely at this point, that our public( that is we guys) should support our team , rather than making a big deal out of it..and I'm sure india will come out of its slum..they just need our support..not our abuse.

MPs call for Chappell's head
by Dr. S. K. Ghosh on Nov 25, 2006 11:19 AM

Dear Sir,
There should not be any hitch to remove Mr.Chapell, Mr. Dravid and Mr. Sharad Power together with useless selection committee members from their respective responsible positions immediately if we have little bit of self respect. Rather I feel they themselves should resign from their respective responsible post including Mr. Rajiv Kumar for giving illogical face saving statement in Rajya Shava to protect their moral responsibility. It is really shameful!!!!
Protect self as well as national respect. Do the needful.
S. K. Ghosh,Hyderabad.

Nothing but bad selection
by Shyam on Nov 24, 2006 06:53 PM

This has nothing to with Captain or Coach, except bad selection. Wasim Jaffer gets a debut, when we are almost approaching the World Cup. Raina averages just 24, and he still gets a choice over Laxman, Ganguly and VenuGopal. Kaif has lately struggled even on Indian tracks. Better late than never, its high time they include Laxman and Venu. Ganguly's inclusion should also be considered if it does not hurt team's unity. But seems like his inclusion can cause lot of undesirable situations in dressing room. Selectors should keep aside the politics & regional bias, and work towards worldcup.

It is a late call to remove chappel but chappel must be advised to patch up with ganguly and build good team with old warriors for the world cup. Rajiv shukla is a clown and enjoying bieng associated with cricket just because he is great chamcha of congress party.people with his kind of health and MIND MUST BE DISCOURAGED TO COMMENT UNNECESSARAILY.

Pay cricketers only on performance
by Kishore on Nov 24, 2006 04:06 PM

Pay the cricketers only on their performance for each match. Let them get a basic pay plus the package only on performance.

Confiscate all the money and assets earned through advertisements, then they would be hungry to perform.

The same happened with Sania Mirza, the undue accolades and riches and modelling has ruined her career. The one talent we had is busy modelling and being a public personality at all major events. The cricketers have set a bad precedence for her.

Please bring back Ganguly
by Manas on Nov 24, 2006 03:23 PM

Dravid is no doubt a god palyer but not as a captain . Ganguly is real leader and he deserves the position no. 3. He can motivate the players and can ball also. I really want to see him as a captain in the Indain team.

dismal performance
by ramakrishna sista on Nov 24, 2006 03:01 PM

Its not Chappel who is to be blamed, its BCCI for not putting the money earned back in to Cricket should be blamed. BCCI should prepare good bouncy wickets and organize as many overseas tours as possible for the A teams. The team management should realize that Kaif is not technically equipped to bat at No.3.And cricketers should not be paid full match fee if they do not perform well. The team requires one more person who can bat like Dravid. No more strokeplayers please.
