Talent Lies in the Streets
by Subbaiah B A on Feb 02, 2006 03:14 PM

I feel that the Indian sports think tank should pick up talented people from the streets through a decentralized awareness generation camp through various district sports authorities. Then I am sure we will find some genuine fast bowlers and swingers of the ball. After training these people the existing military medium bowlers in our team should be dropped. At the same time we should also encourage people who already play for various districts, States, Clubs, Schools & Colleges.

Declaring the team of one day on the day when ganguly was there to bat next morning for india, not giving him any match practise in prior 2 test and finally Dravid stance- "i don't want to talk abt individual performance, in india we tend to do that too much, forgetting team in process" when ask to comment on gaguly's fighting knock is very unfare to former captain. politics in the team can be viewed easily forgetting respectable farewell culture will hampered teams spirit some where

India's defeat
by anupam on Feb 02, 2006 02:44 PM

Come on yar it is just a game. Our team played so good against Sri Lanka & South Africa recently.

In the first two test match we played better than Pakistan. Before this match our players were buisy in shopping and attending functions.

In this game they played better.

By the way this is a friendship series and this is the best gift you can give to your pakistani friends. This is our answer to their warm hospitility. A world record defeat. KUDOS to Indian Team for showing true Indianness which we are exhibiting to the world for the last two thousand years.

indian defeat.
by Nikhilhuilgol on Feb 02, 2006 02:43 PM

if there was no help for the seam bowlers then the wickets that they took were mostly because of poor technique by indian batsmen and their faulty shot selection.

i think its time for the coach to blast the players and ask them to play more responsibly.

Then finaally i think india should go with

8 bowlers
1 wicket keeper
1 captain
1 vice captain(not sehwag)

Drop Tendulkar and Sahwag, they are taking their places for granted. Let them earn their place like Ganguly. In their place Kaif, Sursh Raina are any day more deserving.
But will Sharad Pawar allow the Tendulkar to be dropped. The Marathi lobby like Pawar, Sandeep Patil, Shastri, Gavaskar et all will manufactur a hype to retain him. For Sahwag less said the better. He is a selfish player who has no consideration for the needs of the team.
Learn from Aussies. who could rest Gilchrist and Ponting even. No body except for deserving performance is indispensible.
Had our batsmen played better and gained a lead of 100 runs, it would have supported our bowlers in Pakistan's second innings.

Change in Indian Team
by Shaajan on Feb 02, 2006 02:32 PM

I have strong feeling about the remarks made by Pakistan ex-wicketkeeper Moin Khan that Sachin Tendulkar is now past his prime time. Yes he is correct. We wish what has happened to Saurav Ganguly should not happen to Sachin. He should go out gracefully.
