Thanks Indian cricket team
by simran on Dec 31, 2006 01:39 AM

First of all, I would like to thanks Indian cricket team for approving my decision once again to step backwards for watching Cricket(especially Indian cricket matches).I prefer to watch australian cricket, because that team played with MEN,not chokers.
Secondly, i would like to thanks Indian Cricket team for this performance, as they are trying their best to help normal public to understand that their are other sports except cricket in country and its the right time now to concentrate on them.

Umpiring

I am wondering when would ICC get technology into play and end this horrendous umpiring that seems to be everywhere and mostly going against us.
We played badly, however game could have gone either way had Villiers or Pollock had been given out when they were.

I totally agree with you. Look at all other major games played in the USA and other parts of the world, if an on-field umpire makes a poor decision then the coach of the affected team could challenge the decision and request for a TV replay. Such replays ensures that a fair decision is taken. Even in Cricket, it's not the technology but its the willingness of ICC and its members. Perhaps ICC is such a dead body of cricket with double standards in everything would find it difficult to change things for good.

India is consistently inconsistent
by Ravichandran.B on Dec 30, 2006 10:01 PM

How long we R going to praise a brittle batting line up as the best in the world? We continue to persist with Sehwag at the expense of a quality Gambhir; keep praising Sachin as "Master Blaster", "Maestro" etc. but Tendulkar even after playing more than 130 tests, is yet to win a test on his own performance, especially in the 4th innings of a Test match. Problem is, we play too much ODI at the expense of Test matches; clearly when money is the sole prerogative (for both the Board and for players like Sachin), it is foolish to expect consistency. A Lara is choosy in playing ODI matches in order to win more matches for WI but here Sachin keeps on playing ODIs; clearly sponsors and money are the prime factors in Sachin's atrocious performance in Tests; Since 2000, Sachin's mode of dismissals in Tests are either caught at the Wicket and in slips, lbw or bowled. Players like Warne, McGrath and Damien Martyn despite playing much better cricket than Sachin over the years but leave International cricket & pave way for youngsters but Asian cricketers have to be forced to leave the scene; a classic example is Kapil Dev and now Sachin; We Indians worship Sachin without much cricket wisdom.

india losing the test match
by milind deo on Dec 30, 2006 09:54 PM  | Hide replies

tell sachin, viru, laxman and sourav that its high time you start playing like say ponting or lara and if noit atleast like say shane warn who some how manages to score some runs everytime when the chips are down.

ask sachin when was the last time he fired on all cylinders when india needed him the most.

enough of this bullshit and stop endorsing products and concentrate more on the game because of which people worship you all as demi gods.

what you guys need is a real hard kick you know where and no pay for one whole year.

if you can't bat when the needs you the most then 35 centuries, more than 10000 runs, brillient cover drives and silken touch is all just gas and no show you bunch of overrated jerks.

if i was in south africa with the team i would have kicked all of them really hard you know where.

What do you mean by sachin does not bat when India need him most. Please grow up. Every match is same. Every match every player is expected to play. Without batting properly. No one can have 10000 runs in both forms of games. Do u have any idea how many players have stayed in international cricket for 17 years. Do you have any idea how many players have scored 10000 International runs in both form of cricket. GROW UP. There is nothing like need or not need for a player to Play. Every player is expected to play to their best in every game they play.

Sachin and Sehwag to be dropped
by DR.B.V.Muralidhar on Dec 30, 2006 09:00 PM

Whatever the experts say my firm opinion is Sachin and Sehwag are to be dropped together for atleast one test. They never played well whenever India won and fared very very badly when we lose.
Let Shastri and Sunny realise that they should not be praised unnecessarily as never they were match winners for us in Tests.

Sachin : Is he really great?
by Gautam on Dec 30, 2006 08:08 PM

I think, batsman should take a lesson or two from tailenders...especially reverred Gods like sachin, who continue to fail in 4th innings...2 centuries in 4th innings in entire career..really wonder why he is called the greatest batsman n stuff...one thing is sure,in 4th innings if India has to chase a big target ,one batsman disappoints for sure and he is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar..rarely has he played any innings of substance under pressure in Test cricket..except 136 in chennai against pakistan in 1999...

If you look at people like lara, ponting, kallis they play for team and perform under pressure...our God performs only against weak teams or in first innings that too on flat pitches( now dont tell me he made 112 at perth in 1992 on quality pitch)...people should think twice before calling him the best ...

As for others....the saga continues..sehwag continues to be in team..God knows on what grounds...am sure he will get d treatment in 3rd test

Its all game, but we should show some fight
by deepak on Dec 30, 2006 07:44 PM

It was very unlucky for us...
Things which came into play against india were
1. Weather
2. Rahuls dismissal
3. Sreesanth was not OUT ...

but we are missing something .... i think we could have saved the match ....

the best played batsmen for me was Zaheer Khan ...

its now 1 - 1 .. hope for the best for the last match..
