Ponting??
by Ian Chappell on Jan 08, 2008 05:19 PM

Don't be so emotional mate..I still remember that you said after India's world cup debacle that "boycott everything endorsed by Indian cricket players played in world cup" I think this statement of boycotting everything Australian is just a emotional outburst which I can understand. The thing is that the whole episode was really handled very badly by not only those two "Handicapped" umpires but also prejudiced referee too!! That is why BCCI, ACB and ICC has to intervened atlast to rectify it and I must congratulate not only BCCI and Indian Players but also ICC and ACB for solving this matter but really feeling sorry for Ricky Ponting.
What does it mean by Harbhajan is now free to play? Does it mean Harbhajan singh has just took a "Stay" against his ban or he is free of guilty?
I think this whole Aussies episode has been delt quite badly which they shouldn't. Aussies really set up a really bad example of going to the umpires for everything asked against them on the field and I think because of this they won't be able to use "Mental Disintegration" tactic on the field any more, they must now tape their mouth in future on the field in future!
I think you really did wrong Mr. Ponting by acting crying babies and it will only backfire you in future!!

Shoeb & Asif - Doping episode
by Vinod Arya on Dec 25, 2006 03:42 PM

I'm sure they both were not indulged in drug taking and there was no serious case of doping on their part. What I feel is that when they arrived in India, they probably were caught in a sort of mess with any of the pak team officials/coach/captain. And to convict them in doping was just an action to punish them. Once the series in over they are free. In all n all it is more of a politics or rivelary rather than doping.

Dual standards
by Nageswara Rao on Dec 07, 2006 11:10 PM

Dear Sir,

The people who control cricket in the internation level seems to be very much biased towards the whites and show step-motherly treatment towards the asian countries. When Shane Warne was left with just a small fine and few months of ban, nobody said anything. But now WADA is shouting and is approaching ICC to deal the matter with regard to Shoib Akhtar and Asif.

There should be a standard when treating the players and it should be followed as per the book.

Ban of shoaib and Aasif!
by ashish on Dec 06, 2006 06:26 PM

lifting ban is a right step but handling the doping issue PCB should be criticised...When Poltician and Beurocrats run any sports body these things are expected ...at the very 1st place the timing of the dope test by pakistan was bad..if they really wanted to be dope free team for Chapions trophy they would have done it long before ....secondly they should not have publicized that matter .......In india and pakistan both have inherent problem of bashing our won citizen where as other nations protect the interest of their citizens and players....I wish all the luck to shoaib ...for future cricket ....
improve your image shoaib and get down in history of cricket as great bowler not as trouble maker ....
