Ban lift on Shoaib
by SRIVATHS on Dec 05, 2006 10:47 PM

I am very happy that finally the Tribunal has made this descision in favour of Shoaib and Asif . if the ban had been enforced it would have been curtains for Shoaib and cricket would have definitely lost a
fighting cricketer , since after two yrs he would never have been able to make a comeback as he is already 32 yrs. Anyway it is guys like Shoiab , Warne though controversial make cricket a game worth watching for their antics and their competitiveness
without such characters the game of cricket would be
a drab!!!

Shoaib Asif pardon
by Renuchandran on Dec 05, 2006 09:38 PM

This is ridiculous. You can get away with anything in Pakistan. What is the ICC rule on this thing? Is it upto the respective boards to decide like this? This is unfair if these players are allowed to compete outside Pakistan. Crickets is slowly becoming an unruly game and will get worse as long as we have a spineless ICC.

Shoaib,Asif pardon
by Prince on Dec 05, 2006 09:05 PM

If not Shoaib and Asif, certainly someone is responsible for the dope. If the tribunal finds the players innocent, certainly PCB should not be let off easily. The ICC should ban PCB and prevent it from sending it's team to ICC tournaments for a year. The ban of Wrestling Federation of India is an example of how the parent organization should deal with erring members.

get over it!
by nandini on Dec 05, 2006 08:56 PM

quit ur complaining!! if PCB is a drama school then they would have just kept the whole drugs thing quiet. the drugs test was not carried out by ICC therefore if PCB had kept quiet about it then no one would have known anything about it but PCB did everything according to the rules. the final decision was reached upon afetr looking at evidence and statements. so in future do abit of research and striaghten out ur facts before u start making false claims!

Pakis are cheats
by Deepak Deshpande on Dec 05, 2006 06:55 PM

Pakistan has a long history of cheating in cricket as in politics. Biased umpiring, ball tampering, drug abuse and what not. Pakis have excelled in all this cheating. Wasim Akram ,Waquar Yunus and two others were caught in West Indies with drugs by police in 1990s. Imran Khan has admitted in his autobiography that Pakis resorted to ball tampering.
Pakistani judge convicted Wasim Akram and others for match fixing. Most of Shoaib Akhtar's "great"performances were due to drugs. Pakis took full advantage of absence of dope testing in cricket all these years. Let us not be naive.

Its not too serious.
by Mujahid Shaikh on Dec 05, 2006 06:41 PM

If PCB has taken the decision, then must have some concrete proof to support it.

Both Asif and Shohib were coming back from long injuries and may be the medicines that they had taken were at fault. To place such long bans on them could have almost ended their career and this would be really harsh on them if they have unknowingly taken the medicines.

Death sentence cannot be awarded to a driver who accidently hit a roadside person causing his death.
