If this is true...

Nobody has the right treat a person like this. We got our independence in 1947 and Mr Wright should apologise in front of whole team.

That's what Ganguly is
by Samit Debsikdar on Aug 16, 2006 11:07 AM

It takes something to b a Ganguly. Its unfortunate that the control of the Indian Cricket now lies with the Dravids and Gregs. Dravid cud have ne'er dared to confront the Coach; he rather prefers to be the Coach's 'yes man'.
Ganguly fought for his men. He stood by them always, not blindly of course. He stood by justice. No wonder y Sehwag and Harbhajan still keep on opening their mouth in support of their Capatin. Both of them, and Yuvraj, Kaif and Pathan owe their careers to the GR8 leader.
Ganguly may have lost his touch with the willow, but his Captatincy can do wonders. He may not be a better batsman than Dravid (or Tendulkar, or Laxman), but certainly a much much better Captain, and a human.
And some still wonder Y he is not required inthe team??? Some still question his inclusion??? His poor form with the bat has more to do with his morale, nothing else... Its unfortunate that the politics of Dravid, Greg and the Selection Committe has dealt a severe blow to his batting form...

Gnaguly and Wright
by Rajesh J Vyas on Aug 16, 2006 10:38 AM

Sir:

A lot of uncalled for hoopla is created out of a non-incident. These things are very common between the team and the coach. I think it is the coach's right to reprimand his wards.

The sad thing is that earlier politics was confined to BCCI but now it has raised its ugly head in the team. The intra team politics is going to take its toll sooner or later.

This will be reflected in the team performance. One does not need to look too far. Just check what happened in West Indies tour and check the ODI results. What a shameful and spineless performance against a "C" grade team.

It is hightime the politicians (Rajiv Shukla included) are shown the door from the BCCI and stalwarts like gavaskar, Vishwanath,Amarnath, Kirmani,Vengsakar etal. are assigned the task of running BCCI.

When it comes to cricket politics, let us be BOLD enough to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".
I am sure we shall see a qualitative change

Ganguly sought Wright's apology
by Anu Lakshman on Aug 16, 2006 08:45 AM

Full credit to Sehwag for not going to public like Ganguly did in the Zimbawe.

We can't criticize Wright since the role of the coach is like the teacher in the school. If the players keep on making same mistake(We all know Sehwag has the habit of throwing wicket away. Commentators often justifies him saying that it is his natural way of playing) it is Coach's duty to rectify it.

wright on sehwag
by Rajesh Mehrotra on Aug 16, 2006 07:47 AM

I think John Wright was right as guru needs to make feel the disciple
what is wrong and what is right .In international cricket everyone should
know what is their role ?Sehwag has many times throwing his wicket
away. What is the point that you have great potential and will perform
only 1/20 OR 1/15.If the opener fails the entire batting line up fears and
indians in particular are very panicky.Recently, though team has shown
some resilience in lower order batting.
Ganguly was wrong .

Ganguly sought Wright's apology, was wrong, I think Wright got emmotional and that shows he has the same passion for the game, I think there was nothing wrong what Wright had done. Coach means a Teacher no matter how big, Inteligent and talented the student might be.

Cheers John!!!!!!

No better time for release of book and these articles
by Nikhil on Aug 16, 2006 01:51 AM

There would had been no better time for release of book from John Wright and incidents being covered in articles.

Well, its all past and those involved already knew it. But isn't it refreshing the wounds, getting Indian team think over again for such issues, and least think about world cup ahead.

IS Wright and company, playing some kind of mind games?? Are they trying to distract indian team?

Many of such questions are there to be answered and thought over.

I find it really foolish from Wright's part, and more stupidity from Rediff's part. They still keep such idiotic articles. I guess they haven't got any message from our President.
Today it was Independence day, was there any really noteworthy article or story from rediff? I didn't found any.

Shame Wright, and Damn Rediff.
