everyone's target is ganguly
by b bhowmik on Sep 16, 2005 08:42 PM

Ganguly is passing through a bad patch. This is a test match and owing to our addiction to one day matches we expect every player to score faster. It is Ganguly who anchored the innings to a stable total though his scoring rate was slow.
Atleast on date he is the most successful indian captain.

Ganguly did the right thing.. Ha Ha .
by pravyn on Sep 16, 2005 03:39 PM

Yeah, Ganguly did just the right thing. Keep it up
ganguly and keep amassing your runs against the underdog teams.

Ganguly must be eagerly waiting for the kenya and Bangladesh series. Tell us the dates Mr Ganguly.

selectors should not consider the performance in zim test series
by velmurugan on Sep 16, 2005 02:59 PM

ganguly scored 100 what is use.
he has played for selfish game.
newland won both the test matches in 2 day time.
but indians allow them to came to form.
selectors shouldn't consider the form of players
in zim test serious.

they are all playing for themselves.

For indian Team
by Chaman Lal` on Sep 16, 2005 02:18 PM

Whoopee ! India's amassing huge totals against insignificant opposition again ! I'm sure these huge scores and cheap wickets will cement the place of some ...
The innings played by Sourav was nothing less than a captain's knock. He had clear strategies to tire out the Zimbabweans in the feild and ...
this is the third day of the first test of a new season. we have 2 more days to bowl out a mediocre batting line ...

India --- Is it really winning
by Hitesh on Sep 16, 2005 10:26 AM

HI friends,

Is India only capable of playing against school guys.
We boast of a 500+ score .. but against "Zimbabwe" !!.
A fresh, inexperienced side, I could say that India is playing against schoolboys, and winning against them is not a great news...
At least not great enough to waste the space on any website or newspaper for that matter,,,
let the guys play quitely, and we do our work.
Looks like finally cricket is giving way to other sports.

Thanks to all those Sachins and Sauravs and Sehwags-- who are more interested in advertisements than cricket. And are busy in their so called Tennis Elbow, Knee Injury and all that kid's stuff. Leave them alone and they will learn that they have to perform in order to stay, else they will be thrown out.

Any takers???

Regards
Hitesh

Poor match reporting by reporter.
by A Mukhopadhyay on Sep 16, 2005 09:52 AM

The reporter does not have good cricket sense. In the match reporting unnecessary gives his judgement also.It is very audacious for him to comment in the last paragraph that match could have been finished in the 3rd day if the players made the runs faster. The reporter should understand that faster runs means falling of early wickets. Early wickets means the India could not have taken the huge lead. It is weight of this huge lead that has collapsed Zimbabwe.

What is the need to criticise the captain if the victory is achieved in little more than three days. What is the fault of the captain if he tries to enforce innings defeat.

It is a fashion these days to criticise the captain in each and every thing.

Indian test cricket still to mature for 20th century.
by Sree on Sep 16, 2005 09:51 AM

Todays test cricket is more spicy and entertaining. One could realise the interest that had been pumped in the viewers after ashes. people have taken cricket ahead of football and it was a jam packed audience and the game is played with true spirit.

In contrast to the ashes, the current undergoing test between India n Zimbabwe, is match played for personal miletones. Ganguly's innings was an example towards personal landmark. This cricket reminds me of the late 80s where India used to score at a rate of 2-2.5 for a tame draw and this sort of attitude is sickening.

After seeing the innings of ashle giles in the last test, I was wondering if kumble ever played an innings in his life like that.

let Indian cricket dust themselves and move towards a new horizon.

regards
Sree

Rediff is Against Ganguly?
by Sobhan on Sep 16, 2005 01:06 AM

Have a look at the match report of rediff, totally against Ganguly. In past many innings of Dravid are damm slow. But here the rediff reporter is in favour of dravid and against Ganguly. No way you can beat Saurav. We are proud of him. When Saurav, Sehwag, Yuvraj scored run India secured victory. SHAME Rediff MatchReporting SHAME.

YOU ARE BIASED
