Mr. Ranatunga!
Though i am posting this message a bit late, but what would you like to say about our new cocktail and your old wine now....
With India already closed the ODI series with clean 4-0 lead, kudos to our youngsters..your so-called young wicket keeper, young bowler.
Seems like these young sparks have taken the fire out of your so called "World No. 2 Team".
Now Tell "WHO'S DA MAN"..

Arjuna has no rights to comment on venues
by Ravikumar on Oct 29, 2005 06:38 AM

Any team plays in India comment something about venue. Venue is common for both teams. Still, big cricketers!!! like Arjuna comments irks everyone. If u win in such venues u praise it or else turn otherwise. Is this the way these great criketers comment after. If you and your team not happy to play in such venues, better don't play in those. Rather strengthening their teams he has come to say about venues.
Better arjuna get the records of Mohali and Nagpur and go through the matched played there.

Tasty words
by vinod on Oct 27, 2005 02:30 AM

TEAM India made Arjuna eat his words after the 1st one-dayer.
Respected SL skipper will think twice before making such comments against any team, atleast India.
Hope SriLanka fairs better in the following matches. GoodLuck to them.

India keen to contest new cocktail
by S. Kapoor on Oct 26, 2005 08:16 PM

India won the first ODI because of their "re-discovered" teamwork and self belief. Sri Lanka lost because they perhaps felt that being number two in the world was an automatic license that will deliver success.

Ranatunga getting it wrong
by shitikantha mohapatra on Oct 26, 2005 05:42 PM

I am not sure if Ranatunga knows everything about India.Who said the venues are lesser known!!!you can get the stadiums jam packed on any given day.And every part of india is producing world class players. and we have to encourage players from every part by having a look at all of them. then only we can produce much more players that sri lanka can never imagine.

arjuna statement
by kris... on Oct 26, 2005 05:39 PM

well, arjuna may be right in his thoughts thinking about the status of sri lankan team. but he also needs to understand that india is a vast land with many regions and all the matches cant be played in only 4 major metros, especially when whole of india is an avid cricket lover. he needs to get his basics right before trying to come into a controversy.
BCCI, i feel, has become more of a wrestling arena and has left no stone untouched to malign such a great institution. shame on you, Bindra and Dalmiya. there should be no place for banias in the Board, however infulential they may be.

Ranatunga deserves contempt
by sonaksh on Oct 26, 2005 05:20 PM

does ranatunga mean that victory depends on venue and not the mettle of the team? does he mean to say that indian board ought to ask him where to schedule the matches? india is a big country with numerous centres and the game needs to be rotated. his daring attempt to question the choice of centres deserve the strongest contempt. he should remeber that both teams will play at the same centre before making such attrocious comments in his future columns.
