the article states that the thrid match in bangalore was washed out due to rain, however fact remains that the third match was to be played in chennai and not bangalore. the writer should be careful about facts.

Dr.Srijit Das
Kolkata ODI
by Dr.Srijit Das on Nov 25, 2005 09:48 PM

We are anxious to know why so many chances are being given to the little master Sachin? Yes if we talk of performance to be the only criteria for selection why was Saurav Dada was left out? I myself had suggested that Saurav be left out if he is out of form but that does not mean that you give so many chances to other players in the team. The greatest problem with the Indian top order is that they lack consistency. All the top order except Dravid should be given a run for their money. It is high time that we stop experimenting with the team batting order instead of having a fixed batting order.Such experiments can work against Srilanka and not against South Africa. The ODI loss at Kolkata was humiliating and it seems that the magic of Greg Chappel won't last long.We all pray for India's win in next ODI.

k
one of the worst performances

This mail should directly go to some of senior players in the Indian team who are intent in setting up their personal records rather than playing for the team in crisis. If not for Yuvi and Kaif this match would have been still worse.on top of it some worst experiments, I don't know whose idea it is to send pathan as an opener, if this is the mode of experiments then send r.p.singh and harbhajan as openers in next match and see if this clicks .Experiments look sensible if they are done in their boundaries not what ever you like.. are you listening Mr. Indian Captain.....

SUNIL MENON
Root cause for batting flop
by SUNIL MENON on Nov 25, 2005 08:45 PM

Indian top order or for that matter the whole batting display is flopping because Tendulkar is not delivering. One of the reasons for his presence in the team is as a batting mentor and for the effect he has on the remaining players with his presence. This is what has been made understood by various media and experts and even the selectors.

If he has such a huge presence then his contribution also must be making a huge impact on the players, and we all know that he has not delivered for India for a long time, even going back to his last many innings before the injury layoff.

What goes on in the other players mind is that, if performance is the criteria of the day, why does Tendulkar still retain his place and not other performing players? They feel that, of late the youngsters have been winning the matches for India, and if this experienced player cannot produce runs why not replace him with another in-form youngster who is sure to produce. What this does psychologically is, it boosts the morale of the team and confidence in the team selection criteria. They feel needed.

Greg, just drop Tendulkar for one match and see the difference in the morale..take my word for that
