what the hell was that!!!!!!!!!

This is really bad journalism. I read a news article about chappel comments saying that he would ensure former glory to sachin in his term as the indian coach but added that he may not regain his full form just in case. This is absolutely bad journalism where one part of a person's is highlighted and the other ignored. who is the author of the anyway.

When Brian Lara can get his form back at the age of 35, why can't sachin at the age of 32. It is absolutely wrong statement by Greg Chappel.

Yes, Mister I too agree your thoughts.

Here I just want to add one point.

Australian strategy is to Demotivate the world grate player and try to take their Wicket in the field.
this will work against all player like Ganguly etc... but not against Sachin.

So this use less Grag also trying to do the same against our master, but that won't work.
Sachin has proved his ability lot of time When ever the world governing body trying to degrade his performance if grag have any doubts on this Era Pl. ask him to challenge to sachin then he will het the Price for that "The price may be resigning his post".

Lot guy's who challenged about sachin ability, they got price for that here is the list of Few people
As like Steve in Sharja and Nasar hussian and Co in England and World Cup (SIX) and the speed star Akthar again in World Cup, Even Mcgrath too.
They have lot of Answer for Grag question.

So Don't worry too much about this Fellow command.

But for me "Every day is not Sunday, but Every day is Sachin day".

Regards,
Sathish.

why ??Sachin may not regain form'
by Arvind on May 22, 2005 11:05 PM

yeah man!! what's this coach trying to do..even though he has not started up with the team yet....Is he trying to Demoralise indians about sachin ...Or perparing a platfrom for his Exit....

Any how, when Brian Lara can Do at age of 35 .....then why can't Sachin be same player at 31 as he was earlier.

set ur priorities right!!!
by kiranmayi on May 22, 2005 10:10 PM

the way greg chappel seems to talk abt tendulkar is as though the team no longer feels the need of the little masterand tht tendulkar himself is uncertain abt his position in the team... wht is this all abt?and motivation to sachin!!!!(as though he does not possess it!!!).....its more like putting thoughts inro sachin's brain tht he is unwanted in the team....greg chappel is expected to put things tht are wrong,right..but not to worsen things by assuming inadequacies, tht are not there.

Sachin may not regain form

I am very impressed with Greg Chappel's view that Sachin is not today what he was early on in his career.
It may not sound very nice to ears of all multitudes of Indians who just adulate the veryground upon which Sachin walks.
Greg's assessment is very true from the perspective of human development. None of us are the same we were say 10 yrs. ago, more so in a sport where the country is virtually identified with an individual.
Yes, Sachin does have some more cricket left in him, physical fitness permitting, and feel that he would be targeting the World Cup 2007 as his next destination, bywhich time he would 34. Depending upon how he is able to perform there , he would have to decide his further longevity in Indian Cricket.
After all all things good and bad must come to an end and so will Sachin\\\\\\\'s innings with Indian cricket, but Indian cricket will go on, as it did when Sunil Gavaskar retired. This holds true for all spheres in life.

Sachin/Greg Chappel
by Nandu Chitnis on May 22, 2005 08:39 PM

Firts of all, congrats to the BCCI appointing Greg Chappel as India's Cricket Coach. Greg is spot on in his comments on Sachin. He will have to go sooner than we all wish to frm the Indian Cricket team. Same goes for Ganguly....unless Greg pulls out some miracle.

There are many exciting players waiting in the wings. Greg has made a valid comment that he wishes to look ahead at the India A tem and promising players of the future.

Chappel will be hard on the players and the Board of the BCCI. Year 2007, he will turn the Indian Team and succeed.

We cannot just let past legends occupy the crease for the past perfomances, no matter how great they were.

Greg is an excellent hoice as India's coach.

Nandu

That title of this message is misleading
by Bhaskar Rayavaram on May 22, 2005 08:20 PM

"Sachin may not regain form".. is a complete mis-fit for what Chappel said. Is this an attempt to attract hits to the article? or someone mis-interpreted that?
Of late I am noticing Rediff is putting catchy headlines for statements from big players.. where if we read the article itself, the main heading is either derived or interpreted by editors, not a direct quote from the person in the news..

Insted of giving these type of negative statements one has to motivate the players.I am not agree with Chappell. Sachin will definately come back strongly to prove this doubt wrong. This has happened to him in past also but he always gave answer with his bat.Chappell please shut your mouth and first prove yourself that you are suitable for the job which is given to you.

Sachin's Form
by amarnath on May 22, 2005 07:32 PM

Dear Chappell,

Sachin is definetly going to come back in a big way. When ever questions are raised on his ability he has proved it. Also Sachin will be aming at 15k runs in one day cricket and 13k in tests. There is still 5 years of play left in him.

Come back sachin

For all fans of indian cricket this comes as a moment of truth which all of us will have to ome to terms with as the words come from none other than the newly appointed coach .As admirers of Sachin we all easily missed the point that after all he is also human like the rest of us and that all that things do affect you and your game.Mr Chappel has his work cut out and his suceess as a coach will to a large extent depend upon how he applies himself to the cause of the players individually and the team as a whole.we all know that Sachin is just a shadow of what he used to be and we are in for interesting times ahead as the new coach tries to bring out the best in Sachin and the rest of the team.
