Ganguly assured for Pak Tour
by BHARAT SATISH TALWAR on Dec 23, 2005 04:35 PM

Why members of parliament are spoiling their valuable time on such small issues. Ganguli is not a Shaheed that we shuld waste ur time like this. He is just a player and since he has not faired well as well as he has broken the discipline he has to go and for coming bach he has to once again prove himself. Whey he is knocking the doors of the politicians for recommendations. If he is sure about him self, he shuld play his game prove his performance in the local cricket or he should just retire.

In Pakistan tour Ganguly should be incorporated in the team, as against the Pakistan team his performances is good enough than the other cricketer, he also performed against Pakistan as best cricketer, man of the match and many other things....

Discussion over Ganguly in parliament
by Sudhanshu Jain on Dec 23, 2005 11:16 AM

Hi All,
I think discussion over ganguly in parliament is all rubbish. Our parliament should look into the matter that are of greater concern to INDIA at this moment.
And if the people there are so keen for sports they should discuss about the other sports like hockey, our national game, which is going thruough a very rough phase.
Regards All

Bengali feeling expects sensible speaking Boss!

What a desire for sourav's mis-fans to include him in Pak tour. But his current instinct shows he fits well only in Bangladesh/Zimbabwe tour. Last time without Shohaib... like bowlers, he struggled like any thing in "Pak tour of India" and before that in "Aus tour he did'nt get himself in form".

I am also a Sourav's fan, but with this kind of form, he should retire.

Ganguly assured for Pak tour

That means the recommendations by the Poilticians and the Regional fanaticism will spread into the Sports also.I feel that it is not the selectors who are ruining the career of Ganguly but Ganguly himself by adopting all sorts of Unfair means.Follow Laxman's example and show your worth my dear Ganguly. Please do not let down yourself in the eyes of non Bengali fans of yours, like me.You are nicknamed as Bengal's Tiger / Kolkatta Prince --Ganguly, you must live upto these nick names weight atleast and for your real Fans sake, not for the Regional Fanatics. You can still make it for the World Cup 2007.Anyway all the best for Pak tour / England tour.

Ganguly's exclusion
by Mehul Trivedi on Dec 23, 2005 07:51 AM

Hey remember when Ganguly was appointed captain along with new coach John Wright somewhere around, 1999 or 2000 (not sure about the exact dates) the same thing he did to the most reliable all rounder in the Indian Side ROBIN SINGH, and he and coach gave the same explanation for him to be excluded from one day side, i.e because of his age, and future of indian cricket. This is the same thing, now why everyone has to cry foul on this, as there was no one in the country at that time to vouch for Robin Singh, as he was not as favourite as Sourav is rite now. The same people who are shouting slogans hailed Souravs decision when he and new coach planned to sack Robin singh on same grounds, so why create all this hype and hoopla. Enjoy the game of cricket and see if Ganguly still has metal to bounce back in the side. We all are pretty sure of his 'Take That Attitude' which we all have seen in the past years which led us to finals of 2003, so lets wait and watch how strongly he comes back in Indian side and silences all at once with his willow and positive attitude.

Politicisation of cricket
by Tapas on Dec 23, 2005 07:08 AM

With the Ganguly matter now in parliament, I have no doubts where Indian cricket is going to go, if the decisions about team selection is being influenced by politicians. Our politicians should concentrate on the task they have of managing the country, the economy and law and order instead of meddling in team selections. They should think about sports facilities and sports education.

If they like Ganguly so much that they want him in the team even if he performs worse than others, even if he is lazy at workouts, even if he is lousy fielder, then they should give him a ticket for an election seat and make hime win it and go to parliament. That would be great for him since he is not qualified to be there anyway. But he will be with many others who are now qualified to be there at all. He will be with friends there.

Ganguly's selection
by A J Bhide on Dec 23, 2005 01:21 AM

Dear Sir,

Lokasabha and law makers should concentrate more on their job rather than inerfreing in the job of cricket selection committee .earlier whnenever such drop outs were there ,and possibly un justified e g when Nayan Mongia was dropped ,when Kiran More was dropped , when sandeep Patil, Ajit Wadekar, Dilip Vengasarkar were dropped none of these MP s raised their voice and now when Ganguly is dropped -for whatever reasons -there is furore and up roar mostly from Bengali babus be is a speaker or chief minister of WB or Mps from CPI and CPM .This gets a regionnalistic smell.
Law makers bevaviour should be beyond doubt of partitionism and regionalism.
