Ganguly Fracas

Its absolutely ridiculous dat such a statement is made gleefully.."...but also discuss sports facilities in the country and other upcoming sporting events."
First of all Ganguly doesnt merit a place in da XI jus bcoz theres hardly anyone he can replace in da squad with the miserable form hes sufferin from. Also talkin bout discussin sport issues in da parliament, its been ages since one has spoken bout our national game which is facing da repurcussions of a step motherly attitude towards da sport..Its a pity these bunch of politicians r not concerned bout the sport but only support influential individuals to rake in votes. Its time to get professionalism to da fore...n Chappell is da means of gettin der...but wid our pea-minded politicians i doubt if it can be acheived. Well my appeal is whether if such a forrum wud help us raise voices at places wer it can be heard..or is it jus a means to burst out our anger with no effect dun anywhere...and allowing such injustice to continue???

It is a shame on those advocating inclusion of Ganguly while scores of guys who have yet to get a chance to play for India, it is like bribing the BCCI people!!

Mr. chatterjee, you may slice the baloney...
by Shaker B. Srinivasan on Dec 22, 2005 10:29 PM

...any way you like, but it's still baloney! Despite Mr. Chatterjee's feeble attempt to cammouflage the discussion on the omission of Ganguly, it ranks as one of the most shameful moments in the history of Indian Parliament. Shame on you, Mr. Gupta, for indirectly putting pressue on the selection committee!

Honourable Speaker
I am sure there are certainly much better things to officiate than taking lots of pain in trying to find the cause for Mr Ganguly\\\'s ommission. Is it a subject of national importance affecting a million masses. I am sure just as the honourable speaker knows how to transact the business in the parliment I am sure our coach and selectors would have ample reason for the action.Dear Speaker please dont set an ugly precedent lest the decorum of the high post is lost.

This just makes me laugh

So now the lawmakers (including the speaker) aren't doing what they are supposed to do, that is not be an impedance to the country's growth. However they do all useless unimportant stuff like getting involved in cricket selection issues etc. Moreover Rediff.com isn't helping either, giving way too much importance to cinema (the ridiculous Amitab saga) and cricket.

Wah Somnathji wah!
by Dr. S. Skanda on Dec 22, 2005 08:25 PM

What a joke Indian cricket is! now with somnath chatterjee commenting about a guy who never performed until the last test, a guy who was given a period of two years at least in which he did nothing of note! And who in the hell are these politicians to ask for their favourites to enter! i used to be a fan of ganguly's until he put both his feet in his mouth and let his mouth instead of his actions do the talking. is this so important for india so that some other issues take a back seat? probably mr. t.r.balu must raise a question as to why balaji or dinesh karthik hasnt been picked! bengal seems to take emotion ( sorry this is not a generalisation but just take a look at the emotional emails, etc and let them speak! )and irrationality to new levels! road rokos in calcutta, burning effigies...if every region did this and was encouraged as it is being now by every bloody section of politics and irresponsible media, we can have the whole of india burning! somnathji, i suggest you keep your mouth shut about cricket and do something more effective in your parliamentary capacity and take care of mps...not a hopeless ex-indian captain (albeit among the greatest!)everyone has an expiry date!

''Ganguly assured for Pak Tour''

Hi,

I want to know wheter the parliment is interested in Ganguly and Cricket. There are so many good hocky players who are not taken in the team. Once Dravid was also not there in the team dispite good show. This is part of the game. I request the MP's to do their duties properly to all the sports not just for Cricket or Ganguly. Specialy the MP's from WB.

Ganguly assured for Pak tour
by Yugal Joshi on Dec 22, 2005 07:35 PM

Though what happened to Saurav could not be condoned by any sane person but then raising this issue in the temple of democracy is making a mockery of parliament. The MPs have better work to do rather than quibble upon who should be in the team and who should not be.

And it does not come as surprise that the stupid Communists, all bengalis are behind this ludicrous debate to include Ganguly in the Pak tour. I wish that he gets included and then does not figure in playing 11.

Saurav played well in the Delhi test match. But why we always blame the management when they say something against our so called heros. Ganguly was vitiating the dressing room atmosphere and probably was sarcastic to the players whom he wishfully thinks that he has mentored. Ganguly forgot the line between mentor ship and patronizing. He spoiled a fine bowler like Zaheer Khan just because of giving him so much of freedom without any responsibility.
