Subject: What about the umpires?

Players get fined regularly. If you are white, it is just a matter of money. If you are brown or black, its more. In either case, 90% percent of the time a charged up playr gives vent to his emotions at a critical moment of the game when the umpires goof up.
My question is: What about the umpires? Aren't they accountable?
With a player, he loses his wicket, sometimes his side loses the game and in extreme cases, the player is sacked and loses his means of livelihood.
What happens to the umopire? Darell Hair nearly ruined Muttiah Mralitharan's career and went on to a glorious career and even wrote his memoirs, making more money there, totally unrepentant.

In fact, I just heard that pointing gave an interview with aussie radio station. He told them he is still not satisfied.
Aussies are now feeling the pressure of highest quality cricket. This guys should be beaten consistently to displace their mind.
They should have been banned for atleast 1 test match. They are "BUTCHERS" of cricket. They are making cricket as "RUGBY" football.

Is slow over rate a more serious violation of the Code of Conduct than hurling abuse at the opposing team and showing dissent at the umpire's decision?
If not, then why was Ganguly banned for 6 matches, while Ponting and Katich have been only fined?

These are questions that the ICC must answer. However, this nothing new - we have witnessed numerous instances of Australian players going scot-free while Asian, esp. Indian players facing match bans.

Thanks ICC for atleast imposing some kind of penalty. We will always be indebted to you for your "fair" judgements.

Over the years, scores of Australians have gotten away with unacceptable behaviour, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Ricky Ponting to name a few, while Virender Sehwag was banned for a match for "excessive appealing" and Ganguly for showing the bat (wow, how serious an offence is that).

Austalians are the worst sledgers on the field.
It's time that the Australian players be sent back to school and learn some manners.

But what difference is this post going to make? This will probably get lost in the archives. Is it going to change the way ICC referees impose penalties?
Does public opinion matter anymore?

This is the high time to Ban the No. 1 Cultureless and manner less player in Cricket Pointing for Life Long. If any Indian / pakistani or srilankan cricket player would have got half a dozen match ban. This decision is biased.

Ban Ponting
by Shilshi on Aug 30, 2005 09:34 AM

Why not ban Ricky Ponting from playing some matches? After all he is the Captain and needs to show example to others. Why are all those ICC Referee and other officials so scared of the Australians. It this deliberate partiality? Its time this nonsense is stop, and the rule of the game is equally applied to every individual behaviour.

Australian cricketors are know for this kind of abuses, and more often not, they get away with such disent behviours.Bret Lee is ofcourse an exception among them. He is gentlemen personified, and its time most Australian players learn from him.

ICC RULES FOR DISENT ON FIELD
by krish on Aug 30, 2005 03:39 AM

Yeah I guess the ICC rules are subjective....England & Australia have time & again proved that they can intimidate not only the UMPIRES but also ALL THE POWERS CONTROLLING ICC & they just seem to get away with murder despite the fact that the major contributors to the ICC coffers are from the Indian subcontinent.ITS A SHAME!!!!
