Lets forget things

This is to all those indians wherein emotions follow while watching the game of cricket. It is sad that we lost to pakistan. There were a lot of mistakes done by our players, these mistakes are repeating in every series. But one amazing thing is Senior cricketers (rtd)commenting on John Wright that was really a shame .He is no where faulty there.I think we should carry on with the same team. Our greatest drawback was Irfan pathan out of form and Sachin , sourav and yuraj not firing. But remember this was the same team which got us glory couple of yrs back in every series. It was Sourav who backed so many players otherwise we wouldnt have seen sehwag or yuvraj. Our team is talented, but a lot of fine tuning has to be done.It is essential one of these names shine in every oneday game coz these are the real match winners for India. There are other match winners as well we have Kaif Sehwag and dravid .Dhoni is a beginner. We got to exploit all these resources get best out of pathan and agarkar .Zaheer and Nehra.consider these pairs make the best use of them.We want our team to be like australia so lets give this another chance.Even Damien Martyn was out of for 3 series before india tour.

ridiculous

the article shows the depth, or rather lack of, of the writers cricket knowledge. Ganguly is still the captain of India. He should be the captain next season, unless the selectors inflict another folly on Indian cricket.
i expected better from the rediff cricket team

Dear Dipti,

Your knowledge about cricket and analysing power is appreciable. I am sure you would have answers to the following questions :

1. Are journalists moron ?
2. Why no journalist question the fact that for a ODI 10 lakh people fight for 50K tickets, but for Domestic first class matches stadium go empty ? Why ?
3. If we are so concerned about our cricket team and love the game cricket why don't we watch first class cricket as well ? I know all footballer lovers in India even watch English Premiere League or Siri-A League. So why cricket lovers don't watch a South Africa-West Indies match or a Australia-NZ match or domestic cricket ?
4. So they are not cricket lovers at all. All we do is just time pass watching ODI and passing comments to make others understand how much "we understand" about cricket. Is this true ?

Please seek for the answers all of your knowledge and analysis power will get into deep freeze.

Best regards and happy journalism,
Saby.

Sourav does not deserve an unceremonious exit
by Pradip K Mazumder on Apr 19, 2005 09:45 PM

Sourav Ganguly, as the record says is the best captain of Indian cricket team. As a captain Sourav has bagged almost every laurel of international cricket. As a batsman, he has been described a "a God on off side". Since few months, he has been going through a bad patch, so was Dravid and even Tendulkar. Unceremnoius exit of Sourav Ganguly will be a counterproductive measure to keep Indian cricket in right track. Sourav needs cheer and back up to cruise along his bad patches. Sourav desrves it, this is no compensation.
