Agarkar
by bharat on Apr 17, 2005 11:54 AM

Last I heard, Agarkar was dropped on the basis of injury. He couldn't force a comeback because other bowlers did particularly well for a while. That doesn't mean he's ignored completely even when others messed up. He is a good swing bowler, especially with the old ball.

I agree Dinesh mongia is a perplexing choice, but as long as he does well, no problemo. He had a wretched worldcup and was a casuality from that side, losing out to laxman for a while. IMO, his technique while batting isn't good enuf to help him out when he's not in form. (OK that's true of all Indian batsmen except Dravid)

Pathan would comeback once he gets his inswinger in order. And Balaji did have two horrible matches, so no point picking him for the next one- especially when that's a series deciding game. Kumble was a bad omission. He should've been in the team. He gets better as he bowls longer. He would've definitely done well this match. But India has Sachin who's doing the job with legspin (suddenly) and might be justified in dropping him.. however stupid it might sound.

sriram
spineless bowling attack
by sriram on Apr 17, 2005 11:46 AM

hey prem this is where i think india always miss the trick. They simply dont have bowlers who can force situations and pick wickets. We just sit back between overs 15-40 always content giving 5-6 runs hoping that our batter will click.high time the neharas and agarkars were forced into retirement.we need to find 3-4 good world class bowlers if we ever are going to be consistent in ODI's.else we should be happy that we win a match here and there.Given our resources thats the best we can achieve

Hey Prem
I am from Detroit, Mi, USA
Its really gr8 that u have such an awesome way of presenting cricket for all those Unfortunate Cricket fans living outside ASIA
I am a gr8 fanof yours, Reading your commentary not only gives me the news, but it also gives me a realistic vision of whats happening there. I have a question here, Don't you think, Irfan a good choic in place of Nehra. Agarkar, Irfan and Zaheer would have been a tremendous trio and would have given a boost tp the batting side with almost 9 batsmen in sight? What Say?

On Delhi Match

It is a good move by india to bring in agarkar. In one day every bolwler used to give 60-70 but it requires to have an allrounder especially in 2nd inning. Its a fantastic move.

Poor umpiring

Man I can not believe third is actually blind. I can not believe he can give Youhana out. Benefit of doubt always go to batsman. Poor umpiring.

It will cost india.

The decision to bring in Agarkar(thanks to Tendulkar) sorry for Sriram, Balaji can't back u-u have to grow -by the time Sriram will be retired

Will A'kar finish his quota-What on earth promted his inclusion-we need slow bowlers who will complete their ten overs-or can shared with likes of T'kar,Sehwag

Sorry buddy u can play only when Ganguly is not in team-not for long
