this was the real cricket match the best the cricket can produce never give up the last ball what england thaught they had won was turned around by the 9th wicket partnership and the caribien cricket is back
It was really very exciting match!!I had left my seet when chanderpaul got out.But when I came back,I saw that 9th wicket partnership was slowly getting builded up.Both the batsmen are not star middle order batsmen like Klusener,Bevan. But they did their job perfectly. It is exciting to see such matches.I hope next time also,WI will not b disappointing me
it was nerve craking till the end and very satisfying to see the west indies rises from no where to the new world order top as the guest to the next world cup cricket.
when i tuned into the television late in the evening i saw the WI stuggling at 140 odd runs for 7 just then chanderpaul got out i thought it was all over for windies and put the tv off as i was supporting the Wi andcldnt see them lose. later when i was surfing net suddenly i saw somethin likeWINDIES win trophy. woo cldnt tell anything else shocked me more. i saw the score board and satisfied myself that really WI had won. congralulations WI.Hope WI will come back as the team of 70's the unbeatable lot(of course next to India)
what a win for west indies.all credit to the whole team.
we should not under estimate the role of any player.also we should not comparterise players for their role ,that he is a bowler or a batsman.
in case of crises one has to play required role & prove his worth.
i was reminded of the same situation when india playing against england had lost all the renowned players, when yuvraj & kaif played a big partership to make impossible to real win.
the fielding & catches on both sides were of the highest order the best i have ever seen.
congratulations to west indies on their becoming well deserved win.
I was just wondering does anyone in Rediff edit the articles before posting them on the web. What is meant by this -- "West Indies won the toss and expectedly elected to bat". Did the rediff reporter see the match at all ???????
Cricket needed this kind of finale more than anything else. After two weeks of pedestrian cricket, we are treated to this spectacle of a match. A perfect balance between bat and ball. One day pitches need to be similar to this one, where tosses alone dont decide matches (though the winner won the toss this time). England was always in with a chance, till gough screwed it for them.
Lets hope this victory works wonders to cricket in west indies.
