Both batting, keeping & bowling failed, only the selectors have to blamed
by plsraju on Oct 29, 2004 05:47 PM

The Final Frontier has been conquered.Indian batting and bowling failed in the same pitch, where Australian batting & bowling excelled.Parthiv was just no match to Gilchrist. If you allow me,Parthiv is not a keeper at all. What does it suggest, the SELECTORS have failed in total. There was interview of Kirti Azad in TOI, he has told that in one of the Selection committee meetings,He & Kirmani were against inclussion of Parthiv,to this,Kiran More and 2 other members were gungo against Kirti.Kiran More was already alleged and then cleared ! by Abhijit Kale. So, if the Selectors go with a un-changed team or include Parthiv for the final Test,It is going to be a National Protest.

India- Australia Match
by Shivkumar Menon on Oct 29, 2004 05:46 PM

Today's match has once again made us introspect and rethink our strategies if we are to ever become a name to reckon with in the world of cricket.
Half of the players in the indian team today are just baggage, bad eggs with the good ones. Worthless cricketers like Laxman, Parthiv, Kaif, Virender Sehwag are denying seats to lot of talented youngsters who share the same dreams as they do.
A sense of ownership is what is lacking in them and BCCI as a cricketing body is involved in petty politics and self promotion.
The only gainer in this whole charade called cricket has been Jagmohan Dalmiya and his bunch of crooks and the cricket team.
This cricket crazy nation is a loser and this will continue till we stop giving such recognition to this game. Promote other games and cricket will improve on its own.

It was bound to happen
by Rajesh Dhawan on Oct 29, 2004 05:46 PM

It was coming....with the team management moving away from John Wright into selfish hands, players would be more interested in their personal goals and accomplishments rather than the team effort.

Ganguly, Harbhajan did not play for sickness and Yuvraj was not considered. What does this tell you....discontent within the team ?

I think, till the time India cricket managers, coaches can rise above petty regional interests and the BCCI administrators can actually think more for the game than their elections, we are doomed. Otherwise, let John Wright handle the team or make any other non-India the manager. How about Greg Chappell ?

One thing that this team can learn from Australia is the cohesion and team-spirit. However, I think it would be difficult to achieve this under the selfish MANAGEMENT.

Pls....for the sake of millions of cricket lovers....

LET THIS TEAM BE A UNITED TEAM AND LET IT PLAY FOR INDIA RATHER THAN MUMBAI OR DELHI.

glory
by madmax2004 on Oct 29, 2004 05:43 PM

Usually i try to talk using proper words not today. drop chopra, laxman, sachin(yes him too he is not indispensable as some fools think, out of form is out of team),parthiv, ganguly(he must resign his captainship and be thrown out of team).dravid has had a bad series but has played well in recent past including aussie tour. but the above mentioned chaps dont deserve to even represent india.Scrap all their product endorsements.if u cant be true to the game which has given u so much u dont deserve any money.Scrap that 50 lac 30 lac yearly contract if its in place. Hey will any one get paid for not playing even even for losing? they are 15 among 100 crores.its an honour but for theese SHAMELESS FOOLS nothing matters oonly we viewers give them too much importance. MOST OF OUR PRESENT PLAYERS MUST BE OUT OF TEAM FOR TWO YEARS .And we as Indians must realise country comes first. we have given cricket (to the non playing world its a game whose shortened version lasts one full day!) and players TOO MUCH IMPORTANCE. its time we looked at other sports. IGNORE THESE FOOLS ESPECIALY THAT CAPTAIN who fakes injuryas if we all r fools. losing is part of game but LIKE THIS!ITS SHAMEFUL! 2 hell withit

We Lost ....Again!
by Lavri on Oct 29, 2004 05:32 PM

Just makes me wonder what exactly are our seniors being paid 50 lacs a year for? To lose matches where everything is tailor made to their abilities? If as a tax payer, my money is going to be contribute to the payments made to these players..I think i'm better off evading taxes! The team is a disgrace, the BCCI is a wreck and Indian cricket is in tatters? Why are they even putting up a facade of wanting to win! They win, they get the hefty fees; Do they have the guts to forego the same if they lose miserably and without a fight? I am willing to bet on anything in the world that they don't give the guts! Alas i can't even issue a challenge to them, because i am as sure that they are not capable enough to take up the gauntlet! So here's to another loss that we Indians are so used to by now!!! Congrats Aussies! Well done! You've conquered the last frontier (I think my Indian team made it much much easier than what you expected Mates!) But all the same, Well done!

Pityful...
by Chakradhar on Oct 29, 2004 05:23 PM

The top order literally sucked throughout. Reminded of the West Indies a year back. The team missed their captain more than anyone. It really shows what a team can become when four of their top bowlers are on the bench. So much for Tendulkar's comeback.

Hats off to Kangaroooos !!!
by Vishal Breed on Oct 29, 2004 05:15 PM

Atlast, After playing to their potentials through the entire career they are successful on one mission which was not able to complete by many gr8s. [The best of them as Team Leader were Border / Taylor / Steve Waugh] But stand-by Team Leader did it.

The only difference between Aussie & us is they will give best in Job role they have been assigned. & there is the result.

There was no focus, no target, no goal seems to be set by Indians right from day one of this test.

This is the right time for us to decide right. Team Leader [Ganguly !!!], is in the Team beause he is a Captain not as a player. Laxman, because of his Double Century in Kolkatta 2001. Sehwag, because he uses Reliance. Parthiv, because we [!!] think he is cute. Yuvraj, because he is fashionable etc. etc.

Stop their extra income [ads / other jobs / other source of income] & see the result. They have to play only cricket.

I m ready to accept job. I m ready to do it for us. Can I get Chance ?????
