India Loose! So what
by ram on Mar 11, 2004 08:12 PM

I do nto feel whatsoever, that loosing the opening match should be disheartning for the team. There is a zeal and excitement to overperform, which sometimes leads to over confidence or overdoing, however, we have sensible people in the team to guide and above all we have one of the best coach. Nothing to worry boys just concentrate and I am sure Cup is our's.

It was just a curtain-raiser

If India has lost the warm-up match against Pakistan at Lahore, that is no reason for national breast-beating, something at which we Indians seem to be very good!
India will unleash all the weapons in its armoury when the Tests and the one-dayers begin. Pakistan will have no answer to them.
That, however, does not mean the Indian team can afford to be complacent. It is not merely the much-vaunted space battery in the Pakistani team that our boys should be on their guard against. They would do well to realize the parable of the hare and the tortoise. If they become complacent, even Kenya or Bangladesh can beat them easily.
They should, therefore, play to their full potential. If they do, no team in the world can beat them.

So it begins...

What a wonderful match. Welcome to Pakistan! :-)

Now this mounts much more pressure on Pakistan, because if they lose any one day, media will slaughter them, and there will be demands of playing "A" team instead of seniors :-D

I feel sorry for india, but it was only practice match, and I am sure that they will be a different team in the one day series. Still one wonders how "A" team manages to chase world record total against a world class team. Proves everything what people were saying before, Indian batting is wonderful, bowling is pathetic. When Irfan was being hammered, I could only think of Miandad's comment about him.

Surely One Day series will be completely different, and both teams have equal chance of winning.

Batsmen did their jobs against a weak bowling side.Abd the bowlers? What about much hyped Irfan Pathan? Mr.Miandad was right about him.And Balaji? Both were pathetic.Nothing better can be expected in ODIs from them. Poor, very poor.
