This indian team for asia cup is very good but ajit agarkar is better player for one dayer match than zaheer khan because ajit is very good bowler and also a very good hard hitter. he is match winner player. indian team have three best fast and inform bowler(irfan pathan,laxmipathi balaji,ashish nehra)so i think there is no need of Zaheer khan because he is out of form and not reliable bowler for india. so i think ajit was better choice than zaheer khan.

hi sasriniv, i proved thru the deatails of last 15 matches that Agarkar was best of 5 bolwers we have. statistics are not my own. i compiled them from cricinfo.com. opk Agarkar has given many opportunities. But he proved in last 15 matches. What do selectors take for selecting a player, recent prefomance or past one. ok! they might want to make injury-returned zaheer,nehra to prove. but shud they omit the best player due to that. please read my msg with subject: recent statistics show agarkar is far better than zaheer,nehra,balaji.
ommitting agarkar may not b a good decision.selectors musr have a good reason to leave him.ganguly should somr faith on him.agarkar is a great bowler and have experience.he should have been chosen in the squad.why to plat parthiv if he will only play against UAE & holland.agarkar should be selected.or even leave zaheer.zaheer dosent swing the ball like he did before.he is not a kind of bowler which he was a year and a half before.agarkar has caliber to deliver.but poor agarkar.........

Agarkar is a good allrounder. while the pak. were using shoaib malik at no : 3 and he is also clicked and the team has won more matches. why can"t use for agarkar at the pinch hitter at no:3. Agarkar has having a ability to score 100 in a test match at lords in the past. and he is also came at no:3 for the west indies in the past and make 97 also. after that indian team cannot encourage agarkar to up the order. more over he is one bowler who taken a quick 50 wickets in oneday matches.
Once again it has been proved that there is bad politics in indian cricket. All selectors and captain they are restricting the players from Mumbai to play for india. At the time when india needs all-rounder why to exclude Agarkar from sqaud? Shame on indian cricket and on the Management. If Dravid is going to keep the wickets then Parthiv is required? Parthiv is not going to play against strong teams. He a waste on this tour. Instead we should have all-rounder like Rohan , Hemang. This really is a SHAME for INDIAN CRICKET. When we have the talent at that time our POLITICS is creating the hurdles. I think they should rethink on my friend's carrier. Otherwise it will discourage other new upcoming cricketers, which is bad for indian cricket.
sorry Saurav fans, i cant wait to tell every one the fact why India is # 2 for some time now. Those who believe that Saurav is the reason for India coming to this # 2 spot( not according to rankings), they are wrong. Saurav is responsible for India hanging at second place, if not by now India would have been #1. consider this particular team for Asia cup. No Agarkar??? does'nt that sound stupid. Ganguly has been looking to send Ajit out of action. remember he tried Agarkar at no. 3 in a one day?? he expected him to fail and then would have thrown him out. Agarkar responded with 90 odd runs. He gave agarkar the new ball, believing that he is no good with new ball. Agarkar responded with 5 wicket hauls in both test's and ODI. now ganguly is trying new ways out. thanks to balaji and pathan for their good performances. they deserve place, but should have been at the cost of either zaheer,nehra or patel and offcourse at the cost of Ganguly would have bee wonderful, but not at the cost of Agarkar.
who ever liked this team, u are not wrong by any means. but think of one person and that is Agarkar. Agarkar is a bowler, who if playing for any other nation would have been the frontline bowler for that team and also would have had twice the number of wickets he has now, in ODI's. He is one bowler, more specifically an allrounder, who for sure must be missing the perfect India captain Azhar. Given some confidence, he can be a nightmare for the opposition. He has extremely good potential and offcourse lot of commitment. Him not playing a single game in World Cup tornament, missing out on most of the occasions is because of the crooked politics of none other than Ganguly. Ganguly never showed confidence on Agarkar. Only time Agarkar gets to play is when Saurav has no other options and every time that happens he comes up with great performance. Agarkar is one bowler from whom pressure must be taken off for him to perform. that never happened. let the selectors try saying ganguly that he will be dropped from the team if he cannot average 40 in the next ten matches. why 40....even 20. Ganguly will surely not play the elenth match if the selectors keep their words.
Seems Parthiv Patel is selected to play against small teams like UAE or Bangladesh.
But, why Agarkar is not included in the team, in the place of Balaji Or Nehra, he is the one, who can give allround performance & swinging the ball very well.

I agree with Srinivas....It is hurting not to see Ajith Agarkar's name in Asia Cup Squad.Sourav Ganguly is responsible for his ommision....Tell me what zaheer or nehra did in the recent past??Nothing ..just injuried ..They are not great bowlers...See Agarkar is a very useful player....Who has taken more wickets in one day matches other than Agarkar(Exclude kumble) in present team....
Agarkar is a great fielder & can chip in with useful runs...But as long as Ganguly is captain he wont get much chances which is worst...Hope atleast Sachin plays some role to bring him back to team...We want Agarkar....Why the hell parthiv patel is required in the team just as a traveller....
This Indian Team is very well balanced, having a strong batting line up, With young and experienced pace and spin attack. This Indian team is by far the best side in the tournament. Good luck !
I feel Tendulkar and Sehwag shud open the innings.

hey dude, who ever this is, i liked ur article. unfortunately we the cricket crazy fans read this kind of news, but not the selectors.
Parthiv selection was wrong, because Ganguly would never allow him in the team. He would prefer 7 batsmen. Instead, there should have included 1 or 2 batsman out of 14 member squad. Also there was no need for so many bowlers.
