Steve you Owe a Lot
by Sumanta on Jan 19, 2004 06:18 PM

Dear Steve Da

Well a Good looking 80 on the final eve of Syd Test, But you owe it more as a captain to Bucknor and Co. Its true you have led a gr8 side but you you should be indebted to luck for having Gr8 bowlers like Macgrath, Gillespie and shane (Shane excluding Vs India) and even to Batsman as Ponting, Mark Waugh, Slater, Hayden, Langer, gilchrist, Bevan (Bevan in ODI's) and Co. Well you could not have risen to such height if you did not have them (As this was evident simply with the absence of macgrath in this BG series). Well you a lot to them for making you gr8 from a mere utility cricketer and for putting you in the Peak well you owe them a lot than world cricket owe to you. One more thing you were lucky to have Allan Border and Mark Taylor as captain before you, they nourished and nurtured the Team and handed it over to you. Well Australia was a power in world cricket but Hats off to previous Captains and all player for there performances. You were indeed lucky to lead such a bunch of gr8 and outstanding performers.

Indians are real HerO's Of Worlds CrickeT !
by Dilipkumar.Vushwakarma on Jan 13, 2004 12:01 PM

yes Mr Sti Waugh u are being extra kind in saying. Aus played with a second atring attack and India took advantage if that. And unlike other teams (Mostly India) Ur guys made neutral wickets...read batting wickets and that helped india. U should have made true fast wickets like Real Heros of Cricket India makes minefields here and Anyway we will soon have a foriegn Tour Again and Mark my words "India Will Show its true colours again with Real Heros of World Cricket".

Please check the indian players overseas record once.
rahul's (62 odd, highest in the world among the current players, more than 40 tests),tendulkars(50 odd)
laxman(45 odd),ganguly(42 odd),which is better than most of the other teams.u told 'second atring attack'
who is missing is a drugaddit shane(some says the best spinner ever) who avgs more than 55 against Ind.please remember the india is missing their top bowlers too. They r Having the "Neverorgettable Record against Aus.The no.1 side in the world".

Good luck to ur future

Ganguly's poor overall attitude
by Andy on Jan 13, 2004 09:22 AM

He needs to learn how to be patient, after all he's is a leader to all his team mates. We saw him angry and impatient on the day when he got out for 16. Please be patient Saurav dada it's a matter of the Nation's pride.

response to bapu rao swami
by swaroop on Jan 12, 2004 08:13 PM

I read the views posted by sum Mr Swami.
N i have to say that Mr swami really has no knowledge of cricket.Swami says the pitches were only batting tracks but he forgets that the averages of indian bowlers r the best among the bowlwers of both sides.
The aussies who were playing on home turf knew the conditions well but due to over confidence failed to perform. This swami is just ignoring the lion hearted performance of our bowlers ZAHEER,AJIT,KUMBLE.N i have to ask Swami if it was a battign track then y did the champion batting side fail to win the last match n teh series as well.REPLY SWAMI n rediff ppl plz do post my views on the site.

atlast the great man is gone away from willows and meadows.red cherry will bug him for a while , but so will those 20 runs that he could not make, to his captaincy and grit as a batsman , i salute you stevan, you have taken cricket to a new dimension and you will be missed thats for sure, mate , all the best for your future i know here also you'll leave no stone unturned .
