Dr. Cajetan Coelho
Steve : Thanks for your extraordinary contribution to cricket during the last 18 years !
by Dr. Cajetan Coelho on Jan 11, 2004 06:59 PM

It has been a pleasure watching Steve play his cricket with high dedication and commitment. He could get the best out of his own men and even provoke and challenge the opposition. The creative but untapped potential and the hidden reservoirs of his own players and also of players from the opposition he could ignite making cricket gush and flow like a river. That is precisely what has happened in this memorable final farewell series. Challenge has been faced and answered by a counter challenge. Age old borders have been broken. Frontiers have been extended. New peaks have been established waiting to be conquered. Thank you Steve and thanks to all those with you there : Lily, Austin, Rosie, Lynette, Beverley and Rodger. Wish you plenty of success in all your projects and dreams.

India did well because it was a batting track, India is not good in tests.

No Mr Waugh u are being extra kind in saying. Aus played with a second atring attack and India took advantage if that. And unlike other teams (Mostly India) Ur guys made neutral wickets...read batting wickets and that helped india. U should have made true fast wickets like India makes minefields here (to increase the average of Kumble and that chucker harbajhan) and then u wouild have seen the so called tigers turning into hens. Anyway we will soon have a foriegn tour again and mark my words Indai will show its true colours again.

dear jumbo ,
buddy you must be a hard core old PESSIMIST AND NIHILIST . despair and gloom are the second name of those who canT stand and take up success with self belief . instead of applauding a good bunch of players , you "bishan bedi " like , have the poor habit of always believing in luck MAKING INDIA WIN and not effort .
dont forget that autrailia also played on those neutral wickets (!!) and india too did not have srinath , and had injured zaheer and harbhajan with them.
moreover bucknor and billi made sure india ends up taking 12 to 13 wickets in each innings .
still , for eg in sydney test india lost 9 wickets and autrailia 16 .
dear FRIEND , learn to believe in yourself and your country . or else an immigrstion to fiji ( or austrailia ) is on your WAY !

jumpo, dont be jealous,

australia have a habit of winning their tests in their soil preparing fast tracks for their chucking bowler brett lee. Please dont forget that.

It is very shame that aussies who are well known for batting against fast cannot even defend the ""chukking harbajan" in our soil. remember the treatment got for the greatest leg spinner in the world in india.

It is always a over burden to carry the throne for number of years. So its time to handle the throne.

may be u dont know much about cricket
by mohan on Jan 08, 2004 04:33 PM
please check the indian players overseas record once.
rahul's (62 odd, highest in the world among the current players, more than 40 tests),tendulkars(50 odd)
laxman(45 odd),ganguly(42 odd),which is better than most of the other teams.u told 'second atring attack'
who is missing is a drugaddit shane(some says the best spinner ever) who avgs more than 55 against ind.please remember the india is missing their top bowlers too.they r having the best record against Aus.(the no.1 side in the world).

I think Attitude like this always takes India on the backfoot after a long period Ganguly took India in the position to think of wining matches in abroad and everyone in the world believes the ability of Indians in this tour including Stefen Rodger Waugh as well but what to do with these Indian public like "jumbo" who just for the sake of saying something diffrent and show there presence talk rubbish like this what is this look at Australia This series is almost a lost for them they just saved there credit for a timebeing by equalizing the series tahnks to umpiring decestions in final test
other wise India almost won the test match there as well and they would have win a series after all these things Ausiie media & public just trying to make a way from the defite and we Indians specially like "Jumbo" ...
i dont think he knows Cricket well i dont think he saw the first day at Brisbane where ball was just moving like a banana and Adelade as well but once again we showed that we(jumbo) lack the Mental power to support our team..
sorry Mr Jumbo u should go and learn cricket if u can and if u get this mess plz replay me i m eagerly waiting fro ur replay
