I am not the one to remain happy saying that CRICKET has won. India clearely lost out in this sereis on two counts;
1. We shouldn't have lost the third match.
2. We should have won the fourth match.
From the position of strength, if we can not win, then it is nothing but losing.
While I am extreemly happy the way our team performed during the current series - beyond anyone's expectation including mine - I am disappointed that we could not seal the series win which was rightly ours.
Indian Media must be insane to focus attention on Sachin and forget Sourav - under whose captaincy India has reached a stage that it hadn't enjoyed for the past 2 decades. The Media is obnoxious in its treatment of Sourav and instead of groveling on his feet - they have with their dearth of cricketing knowledge are busily inventing imagined perils with which they are blaming Sourav. Such is the infamy of the racist Indian Press that they can't accept that a Bengali is in the helm of affairs. Old Captains famous for womanizing, corruption and match fixing are staging a comeback with their nebulous records, which stand for nothing but their inflated ego. TV Channels are also in the race with somebody called Vajpayee of NDTV claming that Maharaja of Kolkata is Beggar of Kolkata that too on a channel owned by a paralyzed Bong. Hadn't heard him calling Sachin a tax-evader, Navjot a murderer, Ahzar a match fixer and Jadeja the prince of thieves. Such is the democracy exhibited by our media that they fix their attention on Sourav and criminally diverting attention from the follies of other players. Like the horrible form of Sachin in the first 3 matches! Very convenient!
I allways pray to god to put his blessings on steve as he is that person who deserve it,and from the core of my heart i allways want to see steve in flying colours for the rest of his life. thanking you yours Amiya Saha dated: 6/1/2004
The final test may have ended in a draw but nothing is to be taken away from the noteworthy performance of the Indians. There might be questions raised about the captaincy on the final day and the decision of not asking the Aussies to follow-on. But all said and done, Indian boys made Aussies sweat on their soil. Dravid, Laxman, Agarkar and Kumble did quite well to make this a memorable series. Steve Waugh can take respite from the fact that he did not abdicate the throne on a losing note, rather he should be happy to have ended his great career with grace against a devoted and professional cricketing team!! Well Done India and adios Steve!!
i thought the gangulys's decision to play second innings was wrong .still they are beyond the follow-on why we have to bat.it was a very good chance to win the match
It is my privelege to see one of the greatest test cricketer Steve Waugh who quitted the active glorious game with an outstanding record. It is a fitting tribute for him as he successfully put his country team on the top of the cricketing world. As a captain he ouplayed all other teams and showed the burdens of captaincy without much to raise his arms. May his cricketing abilities be adorable and practised by all the upcoming and present players.
I wish him all success in his all future deeds.
Lastly, but not least INDIANS did extremely excelled and in putting Aussies on the thinking time through out the TEST series may this show will continue in the VB One-day series.
GANGULY. A leader without any vision and capability... Of course he is a good player but the shameful fear of losing, which was so evident from his face and actions, proves his incompetence as a captain. All the time he tried for a draw instead. What were our idiot manager and other senior team mates (Sachin, Dravid & Kumble) doing. So, happy Mr. Sachin (MoMatch) and Mr. Dravid (MoSeries) . Who cares about INDIA you two got what u wanted and probably Mr. Kumble got some extension before his retirement. WHO CARES WHAT HAPPENED TO INDIA . As usual I will shout in my room and get back to work
