Lame Finish. A win was a must in the final match had His Majesty Ganguly had given the follow on to the Australians. Expecting to take 10 Determined Aussie wickets in one day is next to impossible. They had a point to prove for their Captain and they had to either win or draw the match, which they eventually did. Had Ganguly given them the bat yesterday, we could have expected 10 wickets by tea time today and if required the maximum 50 or 100 odd runs could have been scored by the strong Indian line up in two hours. But nonetheless the Indian played with their hearts out. Cheers to them.
The expert 'Ashish Magotra' has expressed his doubt of Ganguly's intend to win the test series; where as I doubt his(Ashish Magotra) intention to provide impartial report. I would suggest him to stop pulling indian captain's leg this way. you might loose lot of readers. The reporter attacked Ganguly's defensive field placings. Would he be happy to watch Steve Waugh scoring over fielders heads in an attacking field placing, and take away the series? Mr. Magotra should remember that the opponent team is none other than Australia.
It is such "spineless" and "bum-licking' type of reporting,in the name of "good sportsmanship' and other such lofty values, which only Indians have, that encourages the "umpiring India out of a win",especially overseas...while our own umpires in India bend backwards to please the touring teams...! Boycott had the guts to lambast the rank partisan umpiring of both umpires, especially of Steve Bucknor,as if there was a conspiracy to protect Steve Waugh from a certain defeat,on the eve of his retirement...! ! If Indian umpires did even half as much, the touring team, especially if it were the Aussies, they wouild have gone to town, protesting all the way... Cricket has stopped being longer a "gentleman's game" soon after Packer brought huge money into the game... Today it has become WIN at all costs...! ! ! WHAT A SHAME...
A shameful day for cricket. 6 outrageous decision in one innings, thats how Australia was helped to save the day. Shame for Indian cricket journalist, who do not have balls to talk the truth and brownnose whites. It is outright disgusting and shame me to my toes for thinking those writers are all indian.
Partiv Patil ruined the chances of Indias great win in Australia. I think he is kid with Godfather in the selection committee. Gangulies captancy was pethetic in this test match. Today it was very disappointing day for most Indians that we could not win this series such times are rare to come for our spine less team who are more worried of loosing rather than winning.
India lost a golden opportunity today failing to win this match. Historic series win chances in Australia don't come too often. India played defensivly at the end to give it away. The Aussies didn't even deserve to draw this match let alone win it. I hope Indian's develop some skills to finish up the matches on the verge of winning. I am not what the Manager is doing if not educating the captain on the strategy of the game...
