FINALLY TOP PLAYERS
by hemant jain on Sep 21, 2003 05:03 PM

Heartening to see sachin playing in the domestic cricket as our top players seem not too interested in it and that is one major reason that it's standard has gone so low.Hoping this trend will continue and we'll see more international players playing domestic cricket.

Mumbai Magic
by Yegnesh on Sep 21, 2003 08:09 AM

This match once again proves that when it comes to cricket, Mumbai is the best. With Rest of India team playing with so called big names like Ganguly, Kumble, Sehwag, Harbajan, Mumbai could still take the lead. This shows the character that Mumbai team has. The guts and streetsmartness displayed by Mumbai team is a result of their efforts and dedication towards the game. One should think twice before pointing fingers towards selection of a mumbai player in the international circuit.
My Hearty congratulations to Mumbai and Sachin for this remarkable performance.

Mumbai's strength is late order batting
by Ashutosh Shukla, Edison, USA on Sep 21, 2003 01:35 AM

Between Bahutule, Powar and Agarkar Mumbai has a very potent late order batting. It is time to have a look at this trio to beef up India's batting, rather than asking Dravid to keep so that we can have extra batsman.

I have observed them in Ranji 2003 and these three guys have frustrated opposition bowling late in the innings.

viru needs to change
by mihir on Sep 21, 2003 12:23 AM

there is no doubt about the fact that viru is flamboyant but he needs to prove himself in the longer version of the game or else the time will come that we would see him only in colors and not in whites

views on irani trophy
by abhishek on Sep 20, 2003 11:26 PM

I suppose this is goona be 16th victory for mumbaikars in irani trophy thast for sure. i praise tendulkar for the way he has gripped the team and the team has gripped each and every player. Surely the tendulkar factor matters. anywasy the best player of the match uptil now is ramesh powar. i donno why he is not picked in indian side yet.also the person who attracted me awas L balaji ..the lanky fastbowler is surely a deserving candidate for our much needed fast bowling line up.
Best of luck to mumbai and sachin for achieving victory ...Hope the dream comes true....

Balaji dumped again!
by Muralidhar Rao on Sep 20, 2003 11:25 PM

Lakshmipathy Balaji was rudely dropped after only one match against the West Indies for no fault of his. In this match even though he was bowling with fire Balaji was purposely under bowled. The reason for this I am told was to give the other 4 senior bowlers (including Bangar) longer stints ahead of upcoming test matches. But is this fair to this young and promising bowler that is Balaji? This kind of selfish attitude by the seniors against juniors should not be tolerated by the BCCI authorities. Balaji had a golden oppurtunity of being a hero in front of his home crowd which was selfishly denied by India's captain and senior bowlers. HOW CAN INDIA BUILD A TEAM FOR THE FUTURE IF THE OLDER PLAYERS DO NOT ENCOURAGE THE JUNIORS?

selection for upcoming series
by rajat bansal on Sep 20, 2003 11:10 PM

i think ramesh powar should get a chance to play for
india after such agood performance. He can prove a very good allrounder. Yuvraj should also get a nod ahead of Laxman
