virender shewag is careless and stupid, without any commitment for the job he is doing. he should not be selected for india, no matter what talent he has. talent without commitment is useless.
too much is talked about tendulkar. he may be agreat batsman, but he can not deliver when required, like steve.
ganguly is suspect about fast bowling and australians know how to sort him out. he is a tiger only in bengal and in ads.
None of the reporters including Ashish Magotra have exposed Ganguly for underbowling Balaji after his fiery spell in the 2nd. When Harbhajan and Kumble were being hammered and tonked all over for sixes and fours Balaji was never given to bowl except for one over. Something smells fishy here. Was Balaji kept away on purpose?, because had he continued bowling and taken 6 to 7 wickets then the selectors would pressure Ganguly to include Balaji for the first test. That would mean Srinath, Nehra and Agarkar would have to sit out. Ganguly would rather have his old pals in the team and India lose in the process with a lethargic pace attack than having youngsters like Balaji, Salvi etc. who are bowling with much more fire than Srinath, Nehra or Agarkar. Yet Ganguly shamelessly needed Balaji's help as the nightwatchman. Shame on you Ganguly and may you perish in the tests and one dayers against NZ-Aus.
We are too late in improving the standard of pitches and outfield. Why our batsmen can't play well on pitches which aid fast bowlers? Because we play too much cricket on substandard pithces. Nobody cares for the wise words of Gavaskar,Pataudi,Bedi and the like. Our administers are there only to occupy powerful 'chairs'. They don't have the forsight to improve the playing conditions of domestic cricket ie Renji trophy and various other junior level cricket. Pathetic conditon??
