About 3 years back the only pair that broken the straight winning streaks of australia is Dravid & Laxman by giving the historic win even after playing follow-on.
Now again the same pair created another remarkable victory by defeating the World Champs at their home.
Even if Sachin and sehwag had done a task of 300 for india , full credit goes to Dravid to make it 350 as in some stage we felt 300 was gettable but never 350. I think its high time we should rate dravid as player of situation not slow or fast. He knows what he is doing and plays with brain unlike other indians. I think he should not be burdened with wicket keeping, one odd bounce may injure him and then india's position minus him is really really tough.
TWO POINTS HERE GOOD NEWS is India made it to the finals. WTG-->INDIA. I am sure the finals will be a thrilling match. BAD NEWS is I cannot understand hy DD is continuing with with Sanjay Manjrekar. He may be ignorant of the shape of a rugby ball but not whole of INDIA. He was making a fool of us country men when Mr. Morrison and he were discussing the semi-finals of World cup Rugby match between Australia and New Zealand. I think he should he sacked and his knowledge of the game of cricket is also too poor. I wish DD cancells his contract. If he is around INDIA will fare poorly for he thinks its only the players fro Mumbai are good enough to play for the country. No wonder he hates Dravid. Wake Up Mr. Manjrekar!!!!!
It has become a fashion for the scribes & the TV Commentators to write/talk freely about the Umpires and the LBW Decisions. All this is because of the TV Replays with the 'Blue-strip-overlap' on the screen. When one sees the action-replays on a 11" or 15" screen where the ball is seen to have atleast a 10% overlap on the Blue-Band overlaped on the small screen these 'Pundits' take off on full throttle "its a BAD decision. Sanjay Manjarekar normally a level headed person was seen to behave like Ravi Sastri who was famous for his 'advance comment' on run-out replays where he wants to register his comments: "He HAS to GO" even before the replay started! After all they have to assume the EXPERT ROLE. The batsman takes 'GUARD' with 'help' from the Umpire and then his stance accordingly. That becomes a reference point for the Umpire and then on it is the 'imaginary-line' and his fairmindedness that matters.Until the Laws are changed to "decision with help from third umpire" like what is being followed now for Run outs when in doubt our experts should learn to go soft on their Constitutional Rights on Freedom of Speech etc.
We will manage to win Australians if they won't resort to intimidating tactics - bouncers and balls wide off the wickets - whenever their decent balls are attacked. Unfortunately, this has been their practice since Simpson days. They can learn decency from Cricketers like VVS Laxman.
I think your comments "unlikliest batsmen - Dravid" are totally unfair !!! Time and again Dravid has proved himself as the man to rise to the occassion. His ability to maintain as well as accelerate the innings when the situation demands cannot be doubted ! He has always been overshadowed and does not get his due.....it's time he gets it now !
