Waste of Time
by Terence on Feb 26, 2004 10:15 AM

It is no use wasting time on this as people are very busy and the free time we get is not to be poured out on a book which will be just of greenary for the person mentioned but we all now him very well he and his habits so we don't need to read the book as we know the person himself.

RAVI SINGH
JAVED MIANDAD !
by RAVI SINGH on Feb 26, 2004 07:44 AM

Javed is one cricket player, I simply adored, he played the game with his own game plan and it was a very effective one, even though I am an Indian, living in US,but I have great respect for him as a cricket player, in one word Javed was an 'AWESOME' player. His autobiography would surely be very interesting to read, at least i would like to know the source of fire within. So plz write it.

so it was ok for Aussies to sledge or do whatever it takes(ruffling some feathers)to win. it was javed who took it on firmly on the chin(when all the other teams took it lying on the ground)from Aussies, who went on to make history. leave the guy alone, he is a true master.

look at the record
by Mudy on Jul 31, 2003 05:56 AM

talk about boasting...just look at the record of india and pak matches. Pak won 47 versus 26 of india. India has always been a team full of super star batsmen who score centuries on dusty indian pitches and ducks abroad. Also don't forget about 2 Pakistani test series wins on Indian home soil. In one gavaskar was out to let his team loose and in the other one it was tendulakr letting his team down.

Also don't forget that india has not won a test series outside its home for almost quarter of a century now! so much for a good team.

Need more facts or have you gotten your fix?

And by the way...try generating a genuine fast bowler for a change too. Maybe you should send your guys to Pakistan for training where real fast bowlers are born.

Miandad
by Saibal Paul on Jul 10, 2003 09:09 AM

Mr.Bharath wrote "Miandad is one of the shrewdest cricketers and the person who led the Pakistan team out on a victory of the ground at Chennai in 1999"

Are you sure sir? I thought Miandad retired from cricket after the 1996 World Cup. His last match was indeed against India, the WC quarter final in Bangalore which was won by India.

Pankaj
Javed - passionate cricketer
by Pankaj on Jul 10, 2003 08:42 AM

No point cursing him just because he played his heart out especially against India.

Shrewed, determined batsman. Knew to collect runs in tough times. He knew how to win matches - and not to choke!!

But I guess, he lacked style - he knew how to get runs, but unlike Gavaskar, Zahir, Viv, David Gower et al, he was not very stylish.

Doesn't the guy who posted first have anything else to do than read such useless articles?

Miandad..the greates of all
by Aks on Jul 10, 2003 05:35 AM

One of the greatest batsman. I still remember the standing ovation he got in Bangalore during the 1996 World cup quarter final match, which happened to be his last match. So many things to learn from him. The best Mr Dependable in the world.

Saad Shafgat on Javed Miandad
by VRM on Jul 10, 2003 01:43 AM

After reading the interview, the thing that comes to mind is; " Appearences are deceptive". Javed too is a human being, with both, a competitive side to his personality, and the humane side.

Let us give the devil his due. He was a great cricketer.

He may be a great player but one with the right spirit?? I beg to differ
by Sugz on Jul 10, 2003 12:58 AM

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Miandad was a great player of the game but the truth of the matter is that teh guy did not handle competition in a very civilized way. I mean if you are a great player you dont need to shoot off your mouth or off your feet (More incident). There was a comment on the board bout Sachin being liked in Pakistan, that is cuz the guy is a genuine good player and lets his bat do all the talking. Miandad was brilliant with his bat but a complete foul mouth and that sort of thing might be effective in the short run but in the end it reflects badly on you sporting attitude.
