Australia's secret Indian weapon
by Murthy on Jun 04, 2003 10:20 PM  | Hide replies

I do not agree with Krishna saying India is lucky to enter super sixes. India played good cricket than it's opponent teams and reached finals.

If we look at the results of India played matches and Australia played matches we will know who played better cricket. For India except the two matches against Australia (one group match and final) India won all the matches convincigly. But Australia were supposed to loose match against Pakistan, England and Newzealand. Austaralia were really lucky in those matches.

Murthy,

Cannot agree with you there. The match with Kenya was scary and we almost gave the match against England away. But enjoyed the Pakistan match - best display as a team.

Cheers

Southie man from Mumbai, could have put more efforts in to understand Marathi instead of delving in find ridiculous reasons for why India made it to Finals, atleast would have helped him get through the scorer's exam.

Lacks Credibility
by Guruprasad on Jun 04, 2003 09:38 PM

Without meaning any disrespect to Mr.Krishna,

how can Rediff publish his views if he is not even

professionally employed by Australian Cricket Board ?

The ACB would surely be wary of amateur experts.

Also, Mr.Krishna's analysis of Australia's defeat

is not convincing at all. What about the Omari Banks'

catch dropped by Martin Love, or what of Chanderpaul's

and Sarwan's innings ? Or Aussie bowlers' lack of composure in trying times ? Mr.Krishna feels as if 418

was not a total enough to defend. No sight like

hindsight !!!(to quote Mr.Raju Bharatan).

Mr.Krishna doesnt give India much credit in the

WC2003. Pray, what does he mean by "nobody exposed

Rahul Darvid on his keeping" ? Or "other teams not

capitalizing on India's poor display in NZ"?

Sounds rubbish, really.

Cricket is a simple game, but Mr.Krishna, and the

article would want us the believe the opposite is

true.

Another one of "India Bashers", trying to get some publicity. Though soem of his analysis are acceptable, those are observations that even a 10th grade fanatic would do.

Krishna who?
by Arun Sai on Jun 04, 2003 09:27 PM

That was a lot of crap Mr.Expert (with all due respect). The most disgusting part of the long asinine article was the reasons for India's fluke entry into the finals.

I am extremely disappointed that rediff cricket which ive been following daily for the past 2 years carries an unsubstantiated and ludicrous writeup such as this.

this in my view is just rubbish as anuthing else.he may be a great statician but saying that had this been done the result would have been different is rubbish.i think in few days he will find out a reason that had this guy bowled from this time to this time the v.v.s.laxmans innings at eden gardens could have been stopped.it is time media stops licking these guys who are not always correct.

Ho hum...just because the Aussies like this Indian guys' bootlicking we elevate him to the exalted position of an expert. Tell me please how can any team expose Rahul Dravid as a keeper...does he mean that England should have intentionally been edging to the keeper just to expose Dravid ? And how does he know noone "tried" to take toll of India after it lost to Australia ? And how do you take "toll" anyways ? Sounds more like the fawning of a bootlicking Indian than the objective analysis of an expert. Sachin keeping wickets..ha ha...yeah right the last thing we want is Sachin tiring himself behind the wickets, diving about, falling on his injured shoulder, stretching his troublesome hamstring...this seems to be good advice for the team this guy worships (ie Australia) but not for India. And now Rediff tries to idolize this guy...

If promoting this guy was the only intention of this article then it did a pretty good job. But why waste the time of the readers.
