I really waited for some time to read this artilce thinking it of a very good article. But it is not that much worth. The person might be a GRE-outcome and wanted to use all the words somewhere and used them at once here.
rediff, please present the articles in normal English and not in hi-fi English.
Everyone knows that the full strength Australian team is one of the best teams of all time, but it still does not take away some of the negatives which have grown along with the team's success. As Sunil Gavaskar very aptly pointed out during his speech at Lord's the fact that the world's best team consistently sledges makes it a bad advertisement for the game. Moreover, the general impression is that whenever an Indian, Pakistan or Sri Lankan shows any bit of aggression it's dubbed as intimidatory behaviour and when the Aussies do it it is hailed as a great tactical weapon. Let us take this article at its face value and enjoy it for its sharp edged witticism. Way to go buddy!!!
Who has written this title??????? I have not read the entire one for i thinnk there is no need to!!!!!!! The title itself suggests that this is utter rubbish!!!!!!! Australia is still the no1 side in the world!!!!!! It has proven this many times and now they have reached a position where they do not have anything to proove!!!!!!!
pretty dumb and malicious article to say the least. mixing metaphors and even fairytales and even though i'm a patriotic indian this ones too vitriolic. do watch over the quality of ur writers rediff
remember ponting telling the aussie media at the end of day 1 (aus. 400/5 with RP 176 not out) that they would not enforce the follow-on "this time"? don't we have to give them the follow-on option first by scoring no more than 356?" it seems that ponting remembered how hard it was for aus. to toil in kolkata after enforcing the follow-on but he did not remember that India are capable of unbelievable resistance when their backs are to the wall in the face of an arrogant opponent. so, how sweet it was for me to see that smile wiped off ricky ponting's face slowly but surely! thank god for making VVSL and RD in India so i was spared the sight of ponting gloating again with the M of the M award which would have surely made me throw up! now let's hope like hell that sachin fires and keep our fingers crossed and pray that australia does not steal our hard-earned bragging rights right back! -mohan srinivas san francisco
Sriram, Wonderful article. I just could not stop myself from congratulating writer. This is the kind of attacking spirit we need in indians.
If we play bad and some foriegner press makes "Duck Jokes", even indian media joins hands with them. If we perform well, media treats it as kumbhmela happening once in some 20 years. If India has to progress , just not in cricket, we have to be fiercely competitive. And for every Dravid we should have one Saurav.
