One of the important thing that India have to kept in mind is that they do not have to loose their way because our task is far away from us even after a win against them in their home ground.Only thing we can do is to pray to god that we will be able to win series.

India's win over Australia
by Vinay Modi on Dec 17, 2003 06:33 PM

It is really a great achievement for the current Indian team to beat one of the best Australian team in Australia. If we look over the all time best Australian team than we will reckon Steve Waugh team as one of the strongest team.
Now as always said Test Match is won Session by session, in this match Indian team has won all the session once Dravid and Laxman were on the creeze. But Here a question arises that what was the condition before that. I dont want to Criticize Indian Team Which played like Champions but we need to work upon certain areas. We should definitely think of the result if Gillchrist would have not left Dravid.Australian are very good in coming Back that We have seen in 1999 World Cup.
So My heartiest congratulation to Indian Team and best wishes for them to come India With Series in Hand.

kudos to rahul and vvs laxman for breaking the jinx of winning overseas and against australia, certainly it`s a bonus. they should make winning a habbit and ganguly turned out to be the ultimate winner.

Congratulations
by B.V.Krishnamurthy on Dec 17, 2003 02:30 PM

My heartiest congratulations to Indian Team. I think now India has realised that in especially in test cricket not to rely on one player. Yesterday's victory shows that team spirit and every one's hunger for contribution. Now in the batting Department only Tendulkar, Chopra and Sehwag have to click. In bowling, if we bowl to our strength without doing extraordinary and within our limitation and bowl good line and length and we can't find any reason why we cannot win over Australia in Australia as we did in 1986 against England with a strong batting line up as Australia now have. India should not be complacent as we did in West Indies and Zimbabwe. Once again I congratulate Ganguly and his team. The top elven of our Indian team that won against Australia is: 1. Rahul Dravid, 2. VVS Laxman, 3. Ajit Agarkar, 4. Anil Kumble, 5. Ganguly (captaincy), 6. Sehwag, 7. Tendulkar, 8. Chopra, 9.Ashis Nehra, 10. Ifran Pathan and 11. P.Patel.

Waugh going out (contd)

themselves. That is the Belief that Steve Waugh has brought into the team.
Whatever the outcome of this Series Steve Waugh will always go out with his head held HIGH, for the contribution that he has done to World Cricket.
Australia has been known for coming from back and taking the cake away which seems so near. But at the end who gets the taste is the one who deserves it.
We always want India to be better and the best team in the world, but Sourav Ganguly has to look out for what is in store next from Mr. Waugh.

Regards,
Pravin

Waugh going out
by Pravin Mandlik on Dec 17, 2003 01:01 PM

No doubt that Steve Waugh has been one of the most prolific Cricketer not only as a Captain but also a Great test player and Statistics says all the things for him.
Playing Australia has always been Tough be it in Australia or your Home Ground. No doubt India has come up with a memorable performance thanks to THE WALL (Rahul Dravid) and Ajit Agarkar.
There are no doubts about the ability of Rahul Dravid , But i Sincerely Believe Agarkar has a good eye as a Batsman and also is a good Wicket taker, he always needs to be positve about his wicket taking ability when it matters the most and give early brak throughs for India. He can certainly be a Spear head man for India though he does lack the pace that Zaheer has. Agarkars has a good batsman in him and he can be a big hitter in One dayers and Just working upon his technique can improve a lot in his batting for tests as well.

Australia will no doubt come hard against India, and time and again they have proved why they are the Champion side in World Cricket. They have always brought innovation into Cricket be it Test or One Dayer. For example just see how they score at a run rate of over 4.0 even in Tests do show the belief in t
