what india will have to do on final day
by Ravindran on Dec 07, 2003 08:57 PM

Final day at Gabba, I think India is in a position to dictate terms. India should continue to bat for around 25 overs thus increase the lead to around 125-150 and go for the kill with 11 men sorrounding the bat with harbajan bowling. Who knows.

Ganguly has indeed done very well...he and Laxman do deserve praise for batting well in bouncy Australian pitches. Congratulations to the Indian team for their commendable performance.

Great Going Dude

This is Going to Do Sourav and his boys a world of Good. I feel, Sourav has finally got over the "Aussie-Blues". Every Indian shall be very happy for Sourav today. Hope he continues the form to the rest of the test series, all the way to the One-Dayers. If all the Big Guns Fire in time, die-hard cricket fans will not to have to wait for long before India tastes its first victory in 22 years on the Aussie Soil.

What A Way to Go .... Saurav... Keep the Good Work....

The 4h Day at Brisbane
by Deepak R Gupta on Dec 07, 2003 07:50 PM

V.V.V.S. Laxman always looked promising. But, today he re-wrote the reason for the Selectors' continued confidence in his potential. He was a smoothly flowing run-machine!
Sourav Gangully's innings was spersed with poetic exclamations, welcoming an Indian dawn of realisation to Australia!
He batted with the confidence rarely seen in his recent prformances. In fact, after taking on the mantle of Captaincy, this was, by far, his best innings.
His shots, into the "V" early into his innings, made ample sense on Australian wickets, where a straight batted drive is the ideal answer on a bouncy track. His typical angled drives and cuts would have been extremely risky for him before he settled down. Too many such shots, played too early (probably as a fall-out of too many ODIs?) have always been his bane.
His feet movement, getting into the right position quickly, his decisive execution and the timing was sheer poetry.
This, I look forward, to be the turning point in our self confidence of the team and Gangully's performance will do more for Indian Cricket in the near future than anything else whatsoever!
I think,Gangully's team is about to re-write cricketing history in Australia!

Bengal Tiger Roars Yet Again
by KSM Sundaram on Dec 07, 2003 05:43 PM

The "Royal Bengal Tiger" is a Regal, Stylish and extremely clever piece of God's creation and the same can be attributed to the "Prince of Kolkatta". Having the same city as my hometown (Calcutta) it is but natural that i am a die hard fan of this graceful and elegant southpaw - His style and elegance conceal the GRIT and GUMPTION that Maharaj possesses.

He has been by far India's best and most aggressive captain and today he showed that if one (aussies) keep on needling someone else (sourav) for ever he (sourav) is going to just take their b..ls off at some point of time.

Very Very Special also has reserved his best against the Aussies and has put to rest any doubts on his ability.

The bowlers especially Zaheer and Ajit have done a COMMENDABLE JOB - also an indication of a motivational leader at the top. Zaheer continues to improve with every outing and Agarkar is coming back to his best. This is a EXTREMELY POSITIVE SIGN. Now we need only Ashish and Bhajji to get back.

Bhajji shud play the psychological factor on aussies.

Ganguli
by Dr.Manoj Malkan on Dec 07, 2003 05:20 PM

I have to admit that I am not the one who has very high regards for Sourav Ganguli's batting, but enjoy his batting tremendously when on song. Lately such occassions have been very rare. But after watching him bat today against Australian attack under great pressure I think ,will have to change my opinion about his ability. It was one of the best innings by an Indian played overseas in recent times and that also at the right time.
