Its their wish to play or not to. After all who ever talks now about NZ to come here and play are not going to answer when there is (if by any chance) going to be any unnecessary loss of life.
I don't understand how guys offend NZC when India itself is not ready to play in Pakistan. When people say we should see sports as sports and not as something else then first let the Indian government send Indian cricket team to Pakistan, then we can talk whatever crap we want about NewZealand.
I mean c'mon...don't they have even smallest idea for why A'bad riots happened? If they know so much don't they know it was a hindu-muslim communal clash...However gruelsome they were , I fail to understand why Kiwis have to worry about it? They don't have even 1 muslim or hindu in their team so what the fuss? I think next time Indian team also needs to send our security official to NZ if we find out about some brawl in a club in a suburn in NZ!
The statements in the article seem to imply that the Kiwis are here for the money, rather than for the game itself. NZ kept everyone on tenterhooks before forfeiting points against Kenya. Fittingly, they didn't make it to the semis, Kenya did.
If the Kiwi team management thinks there are security concerns in touring India, they should take it up with the proper authorities, and avoid press releases and media buildup. The way the England team went about boycotting Zimbabwe led to the downfall of Hussain as captain.
Security must be a solemn issue, not a trump card or PR trick. The Kiwi team management can learn from their Aussie neighbours, one thinks.
This Should not be accepted at any cost by Indian Govt or the BCCI (Whoever the concerned.) We know how to handle the security over here. If they still fear, they better stay in New Zealand and not come here. Think they fear a white wash on the turning pitches that BCCI will (Should!!!!) prepare here for the series.
