It is but natural for TV news readers to rejoice whenever India gets a gold or silver, often times, they seem to get carried away. For a balanced presentation, they need to show the overall medals tally, at least once in a while, for an overall perspective.
Re: Good show, but they were trailing throughout by 4 points

No, this is not true. If you followed the Beijing 2008 olympics, the women archers also did well there, though they lost to china, I think in the quarters or semis.
How may times are given for team to take rest. India played semi-final ( as came in the doordarshan) against Malaysia and now it is said that they won the gold against England. It seem the time given to take rest is few.
I saw this game. Indian archers were trailing all along (each and ever round) to England Archers, but in the last round, something went wrong - England Archer shot a bizarre shot, and lost the lead. Not sure if it was the crowd noise, or they lost nerve.
So, it was more like England losing this Gold, than Indian Archers winning.
But, Congratulations - it was a good performance overall.
