ask Shoaib Malik who is also dropped from Pak team.
Shooting gives india a real hope in the next olympics. We have been continously improving in the shooting field. And i hope gagan narang will be able to repeat his recent performances in the 2012 london olympics
When athletes decided to pull out of CWG and most of them have not participated, its obvious that india will win gold medals, had all international athletes participated in CWG, india wud be down under the medals table...hahaha...kalmadi knew this thats why he said india will win 70 medals...haha
I don't want to get over optimistic about our performance in this cwg. First of all, many top athletes are missing from this year's cwg. It was the first time, India have ever won a gymnastic medal in its history. So, i believe, it shows the lack of competition rather than a revival in indian gymnastics field. Nevertheless i take this opportunity to congratulate the bronze medal winner and all the other medal winning indain athletes. The Second most important reason why i believe so is that, both in london and melbourne cwg in 2002 and 2006 respectively, we had won close to 50 medals and there after in the beijing olympics, which came later in 2008 saw india winning only 1 gold and 2 bronze i think. So it was proved that all the exploits in the london and melbourne cwg was not an indication of any huge transformation taking place in the indian sporting arena. I too would be extremely happy and proud, if this cwg performance, takes us in the right direction for the future.

Indian team is very good in recurve events... expecting them to win even in men's section ... but really surprising to see that both men and women's archery team has won medals(Silver and Bronze) even in compound event as indian compound team was not even in contention of passing first round...
