As all know roger is a greatest player now of this great game of tennis. Sampras rightly said that he is so humble and mainly focused on his game. I think he will win more than 20 titles. But with that i feel sorry for andy roddick who fought as a real fighter in a marathon final. federer has won all the major titles with french open this year.
At his best, Pistol Pete could beat Roger at his best in Wimbledon! That would be a match to savour. Sampras was too dominant, the matches were almost one-sided.
To compare somebody with others of another era & say he is the best-ever is to say the least, less than fair! It depends on domination against others from another era. Laver, Borg were stars in their time in this respect!
Now, Nadal at his best can be a handful for Federer even in Wimbledon, forget clay! The jury is out! Becker was repeating Pistol Pete was the greatest. So, wait for few more years for Roger's choice!!
Nadal DID NOT dominate Federer completely. When Federer wins, it is one sided but when Nadal wins, it is always close and thats why all the disappointment for Federer and his fans.
On Hard Courts and Grass Courts, Federer has dominated Nadal, but Nadal did not reach the finals of many tournaments. Nadal reaches finals only on clay court tournaments, thats why more losses for Federer. More than half the matches played between these two have been played on Clay. Nadal is a better clay courter but not a greater player than Federer.
Just because Nadal has better head-to-head record against Federer does not make him greater. Richard Krajicek had a better record against Pete Sampras (Krajicek also won a wimbledon like Nadal) but that does not make him greater than the great Pete Sampras.

Mr. Anurag Rathore, According to you Roddick played well but Federer won luckily. Last year Nadal won but not on luck. Why two different views for two five set matches. That shows you are chamcha of nadal and you hate Federer. And coming to being junior I think you dont understand english. Kishore has written that Federer has achieved a lot in the span of 7 years. That means even Nadal plays for another 10 years and wins 30 Grandslams he will still not be considered better than Federer if he doesnot achie in 2 more years what Federer has achieved in 7 years. And as you rightly said I think you are very close to Nadal(Hey they made the Gay Law legal) why is that you always crib on Federers crying. Sportsmen also cry with ecstasy and the emotions they show are out of the pressure that is released after winning. Couch potatoes who know only writing blogs will not know what sport is all about. You and Aishwarya Patil have reached a stage where you have become a nusiance on the rediff blog. You dont understand the game nor you understand English.
Folks, we can't compare between Rod Laver and Federer. If one is from Wooden age, the other is from Hyper carbon age. Playing styles, pressure, rivalary, media, everything has undergone a major change. However, we can compare Federer to Connors, Mcroe, lendl, Becker and today's generation, nadal, murray etc Statistically, he has proven himself and until and unless someone over takes him, he will hold that record (Nadal and Murray both have potential but only time will tell) Federer has been EXTREMELY consistent...6 yrs & 15 slams, most no. of Master series (alongwith Nadal and Agassi) etc. No other player in the history has been sooooo consistent. And guys, in Cricket, don't we demand from our crickters to be more consistent He has consistently shown the ability and the WILLINGNESS to come out of crunch situations...see his record and u will know Till end of 2007, Nadal lead ONLY 8-6 H2H against Federer and of these 8 wins, 6 came on CLAY. No doubt it proves Nadal is superior on Clay but don't miss out the fact that unlike any other player in the history, he has been so successful on Clay too. He is the one who has put brakes on Nadal...remember 6-0 scoreline in the final set of Masters Series Hamburg, Germany. Federer obv. won and just shows he is an all round player. Plus, the flair, the artistry and the magical moments and the SATISFACTION, the AWE you get to experience when Federer plays is spellbounding. So as of date, he is THE best player in last 25-30 yrs.
German's Boris Becker who won Wimbledon at 17 years is the greatest tennis player of all times at Wimbledon centre court. Boris Becker's opponent won't get any support from the spectators. Similarly, another German Steffi Graf is the greatest Woman tennis player.

Rafa Beaten Roger mainly in Clay, Where was he gone when Roger won mainly in Grass and Hard courts. Atleast Federer reached Finals in all clay courts and lost to Nadal. In vice-versa, did Nadal reached all finals against Federer in Grass or hard courts ??? ALso federer is the only player to beat nadal in clay court finals (twice) before nadal lost in French open.
He is not even fit due to injury to play tennis. A player should have Physical and Mental fitness to play the game. Which federer overcome his losing streak against and won in Madrid finals (at clay) before french open.
Federer is just a little better, roll over Pete and play with legends cause you can't run with the big dawgs! I love the royal box full of tennis legends, Borg and Laver classed the place up and made it special for Roger, thanks Pete for showing up, get ready to come back when he wins 7 at Wimbeldon. Roddick deserves credit and hard work will keep him knocking on the door of the slam titles.
sampras says fedex can win 17 to 19 grand slam titles...... but he is capacity for more than 20 GS singles titles. in six years he won 14 titles and if he plays for another four years, another 8 or 9 titles. all these should make it 23 or 24 GS titles.
