From Bottom of my Heart i Want to Congrats to all Winners in Olympics, they really made us proud and feel great with their Achievement
But in Several Blogs i found everyone Cursing Cricket Is it Justified??? Cricketers have also made us Pround so many times and if they manage to earn good money then why all People are after them. BCCI is a Saperate Governing Body and we should be Pround that they are the Richest Board in world Please stop Cursing Cricket and Cricketers. Now this is the time for our Sports Ministary to Think that what all can be Improved so that all Sports Body shouls come Together and will do something Extraordinary to make Indians Stand on top in next Olympics. Hope anyone fro Higher Authorities will Read this and will do something in real rather than making Plans in A/c Rooms
That Indian sportsmen are world-class is now proven by the success of World Chess Champion Vishwanathan Anand, World Junior Chess Champion Abhijit Gupta,WWE Champion Khali, 10 M Shooting Olympic Gold Medallist Abhinav Bindra , by Boxing Champion Vijender Kumar , Olympic Wrestling bronze medallist Sushil Kumar.
The need of the hour is good infrastructure , good coaches and good financial support for these athletes.
If this properly taken care , and priority given to good sports management by good leaders, then India will soon be bagging more golds and world championships.

Yes, But what I realise is that we rejoicing on winning three medal ,We need to increase the benchmark and the Govt has to take the onus in encouraging and providing facilities on continous basis. There are countries like Jamaica,ethopia who have won and shown their expertise we need to go ahead at the moment every wants to have a piece from these winners,the state gov,the sports body ,advt media and news.But after the event everything go back to ground zero
I sincerely wish things change and mindset of the govt,sports authority of india wakeup---Our Guys and have performed.
we wish you all the success and confident that you will continue the form and bring us gold medal. we are proud of you and akhil,sushil,jitender for putting up good show in Beijing.
if only it weren't for the ego and over confidence of the akhil, we would have had a third medal in boxing. anyway... finally the medals are flowing in, and we have come out of the shadows. the thing to remember now, is to build on this success so that in 2012 london, india would be a muck more reckoning force. let us come out of the madness of cricket and make sure that these people are not forgotten.

hahahaha... janitorial skills software development..i agree... indian love software development cuz no physical work required.. that's why we don't have any good infrastructure... cuz it needs structural and civil engineering skills which are mentaly and physicaly demanding

Hey, First of all a great congrats to our medalists, its such a great day for indian sports. The major difference is why cricket is favored in India is, generally you watch a sport which you play most. And we Indians we play cricekt by default. Except if your parents have some reservations for you to move into some professional sport or you develop some kind of liking towards other sports/games. Most of the indians (who are middle class people) don't want to move towards professional sports as a carrier options and thats the reason we are less athetic in sports even in cricket also. The only exception with cricket is we start playing it from the time we start walking. We play it in a corner of ur living room, gallis to ground where 10 prlel matches will be played in one small ground. And slowly few of these gully players will make it big. And we watch cricket because someone like you or me, who have played some gully cricket is now playing on the screen. Its just our psychology. You watch it because you might have hit a shot sometime back like sachin is doing or you might hv divied once and caught the ball like a jonty or yuvi has done. So you love it.. and when most of people think of the same way.. then its will become a CRAZE.. and its just like that.. Here we complain about that other sports are not getting encouragement, but at the end most of us don't care abt boxing matchs or a shooting match other than these big events and we never talk abt it later and so is i

It was all his and his family effort, he and his father said it, and I agree with them. Akhil Kumar was promised 50 lakhs from Exchequer of the nation by Shaila Dixit for a bronz! Mind you cricketers are paid by the Board from its own money. What would she have done if Phelps was an Indian? Probably, Mr. Chidambaram would have had to present another budget!

BCCI also funded by indian Govt initially. BCCI is not separate from India Govt. So money paid to crickters is also from India Govt. Govt needs to support and encourage other sports also.
