Then why football, hockey, water polo, basketball? I think she is hiding the true argument - either she fears cricket would hijack the limelight, which is a baseless fear, or she fears cricket is too much money and might corrupt the game, which too some extent might be true. Anyway her logic of non-inclusion of team games is strange and not expected from an sports personnel of her stature.
As far as India is concerned cricket is a blessing and uniting factor. Where we are fighting over religion,caste,state,language,rivers and whatever other reasons politicians find to divide, cricket is a divine gift by god which unites all Indians. Abid Nabi, the genuine fast bowler from Kashmir has gone to ICL.Otherwis Kashmir also would have found one reason to support India if he plays in the Indian team.

Just because you improve other sports do not mean Cricket has to go. Cricket has become history, tradition..its bound to be there.
20/20 Cricket isvery fampous and interesting towatch that oneday cricket. So i hope olympic commite should compulsory include 20/20 cricket and sholudnot hear such useless statement
WHAT CRAP!!!! who says olympic is meant for individual performances and events.....he should have given a better excuse.wht abt football,hockey,volleyball and basketball.

Cricket is a disease which is not allowing the money from the sponsors to flow the money to the other games, See the dismal performance by India in the Olympics. if the Indians start liking other games the sponsor will spend some money on the other games also. Cricket should be banned , as its a stupid game which can be played for 5 days without result.what a shame...

People will watch what ever they like for ex crickety in India ,foot ball in UK etc. Sponsors go for sport which ever is popular. you cant just ask them to stop sponsoring cricket to sponsor silly games like fencing, gymnastics etc. olympics is full of silly games which when played outside no one will pay to watch. so the olympics give an oppurtunity for theese people to show their talent.
If you dont like cricket go and watch olym;pics which is full of games no one has heard outside the palyers and organisers.
