The practice of making allegations in defense purchase for political purchase is going on since 1988. Boforse, Augusta Westland choppers & many others. Out of fear of such allegations Mr. Antony defense minister in UPA kept many proposals in cold storage. Nobody bothered about urgency of procurement for defense forces. Political parties must understand that they are endangering life of soldiers. The process of procurement should be revised. A committee of PM, FM, DM Chiefs of Army, Navy, Air force & Opposition leaders of two largest parties in opposition(Congress & TMC in present case) should be formed. This committee shall be responsible for procuring the equipment in time. Process of open tenders etc should abolished for such deals.
