If people are happy, it is good. Let them be. For the unhappy ones, if one can do something good to them then do it. But surely do not make trouble for anyone. Live and let live.

Ghar Vapsi was an amateurish attempt by the P@rivar elements to show case their proactive approach towards the cause of their f@ith which was intentionally publicised in a bid to score brownie points. I am sure the people who converted in these programmes would have returned to their earlier fold already as I did see Sku11 caps on them even when they were performing those havans and rituals.
Live and let live is alright for small numbers, but in India the problem is huge and affects about 80 percent of its population. Therefore it is a moral duty to make trouble against an unfair practice, but not without rational thinking. Trouble for the sake of trouble would probably be counter productive and a waste of time. However all must try to take part in trouble making if it helps to end a discriminatory system of society, rather than stand by as living human beings suffer discrimination.
The key to social change is to keep to the path of rational thinking. Even provocation must be guided by scientific reasoning.
Why is that the so-called H1ndus are vulnerable for conversions ? Herein lies the answer and it is the wretched practice of untouchability which has ruined this f@ith beyond redemption. And reading the above report, it appears that this deplorable social practice still continues unabated much to the chagrin of social reformers who have toiled for centuries to eliminate this stigma. In this scenario, what is the ground for the S@ngh Parivar to raise a hue and cry over conversions when they are having severe fault lines within their own faith ? They accuse other f@iths of converting p00r H1ndus by allurements and inducements. But why all it takes to convert a so-called poor H1ndu is a rice bag and some 100 rupee notes ? Why these people are prepared to sell their faith so cheap and have affinity towards it ? It is because of the discrimination and abuse that has been heaped upon them where they are not allowed to even enter Temples and have their seperate places of worship. Even in tea shop, they are served with seperate tumber. In this scenario, how can anybody expect them to be faithful to their doctrine except betray it at the slightest pretext ?

Do you seriously mean this ? Do you know the amount of money that has been contributed to the Sangh's kitty from NRIs ? Especially now since they are in power today, it is only growing in exponential proportions.

Caste are best exploited for conversions having said this no other relig is indipendent from social divides

True in every f@ith there are serious divisions and internecine conflicts. But in no other faith, you have this practice of untouchability which is divinely sanctioned. That is the crux of the problem.

We cannot blame H1_nduism for the evils practiced by H1_ndu Society, because the original 4 V_edas do not preach un_touchability. As per K_armic Laws, oppressed of the H_1ndus have no option than c_onversion.

Even assuming for the sake of argument that the division of c@ste only started on the basis of occupation, don't you still find it offensive and counter productive where some jobs are considered superior and others inferior ?

There is no caste system in Vedas. Yes its offensive and counter productive when some jobs are considered superiors and other inferior. But dear friend that's the way it is around the whole world. No where in a world will a janitor be treated on the same social level as say a Doctor or a Engineer although the job of a Janitor is equally important for the society. Go to the USA and you will know that there is still so much discrimination based on colour (isn't that another form on caste system)
If they are happy it is good for the whole of the country and to the society. They must be anyway happy with all the minority appeasement happening. No where in the world minorities are treated like kings except in india.

France bans headscarves if you want a job in government or go to a school or institution funded by government. Germany bans circumcision and Switzerland bans building with architecture of mosques.

One has to abide by the law of the land. If France or Germany has imposed some restriction, people must follow them as they do not have any choice but wherever there is a choice they can use their discretion.

Germany has now been made circumcision legal. It was never banned, it was a court's interpretation of the law. And the prime reason for the legalisation is strong reaction from the Jewish community, who also do the circumcision. In fact they do it within days of a child being born.
another mischievous aspect of the report is the first answer of each interviewee. both of them say that they are happy to be following their respective religions and that they have no regrets. but the heading of the article says something else.
if you look subtly, hindus are airing their grievance freely, whereas muslim interviewee does not even want to give his name. is n't that tell something about who is afraid and who is not? who is living his life by his free will and who is not?

Are you saying that you dont discriminate Hindus? Stop bullshitting - it is just that you are unfortunately not in a position to discriminate.
Re: Re: Re: Re: another mischievous aspect
by prem k on Jan 12, 2015 04:33 PM
you discriminate even men from sitting at a visible distance from women in your place of worship and you have gall to say that you dont discriminate. Read newspapers like Dawn to learn how institutionalized discrimination against minorities is entrenched in pak society. There is no reason to believe that Indian muslims will be any different if they get an upper hand.

So Muslims don't discriminate against Shia, Sufi, Ahmadi etc? The caste system was an early of organizing the society into priests, soldiers, farmers/artisans and laborers. Any one that worked for salary was a laborer and all sections are important. However, over time this fell into abuse. (Note - I am not an "upper" caste myself)

If there was so much respect then why did_muslim rulers_demolished so many_temples ? Single_Somnath was destroyed by Six_different_Muslims_rulers

Being apex body on the earth and peace loving religion, We Hindus need not learn from anybody about discremination given the onslought in nigeria and iraq and othter places.
this is a mischievous report. you cannot decide if a community is happy or unhappy by talking to a handful of people and making a guess. secondly if you look closely, unhappiness of heedu dalts is more aspirational - because their enterprises dont win business from upper caste customers, whereas muslims seem to have resigned to their fate of remaining farmers or crossing the ladder to gain professional qualifications and become engineers and doctors.
Re: mischievous
by prem k on Jan 12, 2015 03:42 PM
this report cannot be trusted unless it is backed by statistical data such as how many engineering and medical graduate are there in each community, what is the average income of each community, what is the mix of upper caste population in the village of each community. if there are no muslim fc or denomination, you cannot say that they are not discriminated - simply because they have no one else in their community.
