people became dalit bcos they used to eat dEad animal,rAt, snAke etc and also not want to do better work. in life, we have to keep up with our neighbours to a certain extent.even now ,if you and family dont want to improve your life and just do some small jobs,then slowly people will keep away. if an entire group of people do it ,then its a problem..and thats how dalit happened. Later the brAhmins manipulated ofcourse.but essentially earlier it was a work based division. even in UK and france there was division between royalty and peasants.
